As you move through a campaign, how closely are your plans and aspirations for your character's development (over several levels) matched by what the DM offers in his game?

For example, did the heroic path you had envisioned for your disinherited pirate prince, evolving from his richly detailed personal history and motivations, actually come to fruition, or did he end up as something else entirely?

I've provided a numeric scale above. Make your best choice, based on your overall experience and/or your latest series of games.

I voted about 70-75% - but on those few chances I do get to play, I try to work closely with the DM so that my character's goal mesh well with the ongoing plots of the game.

Really, the only times I'm not fully satisfied are those times when the game ends pre-maturely, and thus, I'm only disappointed in not finishing rather than any actual change in path.
