This is something I'm doing ahead of my trip back to the states, when I'll stock up on D&D stuff.

I've based this poll on the top 20 d20 list at the review site, plus other products I've heard of recently.

Note, I've included no adventures or settings. Plus, I've been very selective in putting WotC stuff on the list. And, this is just a D&D product poll.

Note also you can choose more than one product.

If your favorite product is not listed, post below of course.

I suppose it'd be bad form for me to vote for my own book, eh? I just thought you should know anyway that the print version of Wild Spellcraft isn't rated quite as high as the pdf version, so you might not want to have it on the list. Also, Death is a pdf too, so if you can buy at RPGNow from Russia, there's no reason you can't get it now.

Sadly I don't have many non-WotC books, but I do heartily recommend Manual of the Planes. It's a great book to make you reconsider some of D&D's assumptions about how magic works and where it comes from, even if you don't play plane-hopping games.

Yeah, I'm aware that many of the prods there are available in PDF format. In general, I plan to buy PDF products whenever I have the option, due to the price and obvious other advantages. Unlike many people, I like PDFs a lot. I've already downloaded Moon Elves and BoEM I, actually, plus the Banewarrans and loads of ESDs of classic products.

Anyway, I thought this poll might me more useful for others If I attemted to make a general top d20 poll. Of course, there's little scientific basis for this poll, but I hope it gives some people some insights.

I choose Traps & Treachery but that book is only really good with it's counterpart, Traps & Treachery II, in tow. I also enjoy books that give me architypes, like Enemies and Allies, because it makes creating on the fly NPCs that much easier. Other great books are the pocket grimoures (sp.) from green ronin. One of the greatest concepts of 3e, the plugable city book that allows to have well rounded cities in your campaign world with very little work,

At the moment I would say The Book of Eldritch Might 2 and Manual of the Planes. Ask me 6 months from now and you'll probably get a different opinion. I own a bunch of those books but the ones I listed (and voted for) were the most helpful in building my latest campaign world.

Actualy, none of my favorite products are on there :)

They would be:

Slaine (Ok, it's a setting, but even without the setting there is so much in this book that is good)

Occult Lore

Soveriegn Stone: Same as Slaine... and if you absolutely won't pay for setting material, pick up the Codex Mysterium, which has the kick-butt magic system.

D20 Modern

Just as a few of them :)

Doh!! I just noticed that this was for D&D and d20 books. I'll have to add d20 Modern and Spycraft in there. They both have some great mechanics and are fun to play. Well, I haven't run a d20 Modern game yet but it's awfully close to Spycraft.... :D
