I've got two: I was playing a thief and the group was involved in a wilderness encounter with a group of Manticores. They were all flying around diving at us and firing off their spikes. All I had for ranged weaponry were darts. What the hey? I threw one at one of them, hit with a nat 20 (and this is where it just gets funky). The GM was using the critical hit tables from one of the Dragon Annuals dubbed "the Gold Book". Well, I happened to disembowel the creature with one point of damage. The other involved a character that I min/maxed to his fulled using the players option and the fighters book and tried to model him after the Fist of the North Star. My character was split up from the rest of the group as we were going through a town being abused by it's own guard. The details on why are hazy. Anyway, this mounted fighter with some sort of heraldric emblem on his shield saw me killing what he thought were "innocents" and challenged me. (By this point in the campaign my character was reasonably well known in the area as a do-gooder.) Apparently this mounted champion missed that memo. He charged me, I grabbed his lance, flipped him off his mount and held his lance to his throat. He wouldn't surrender. So I stabbed him in the shoulder. He still wouldn't surrender. So I stabbed him a second time in his other shoulder. He still resisted, so I pummelled him into unconciousness with my fists and left him for dead. I continue on my mission to route evil. What happened was that the rest of the group found him, recognized him for who he was and proceded to heal him and ask who did this to him. His reply: "This great giant of a man with GIANT FROZEN TURKEY's for fists did this to me." The party instantly recognized the description as being my character. Eventually I make it back to the Inn where the party had decided to meet up at. I walk through the door and see Him being bandaged and taken care of by my companions. Before I can open my mouth the group takes me aside and whispers "He's a paladin." My response: "Whoops."
