I'll post what my perfect day would be if it happened tomorrow. It's not so much a dream day as it is a day where things happen as good as they reasonably could. I wake up at 7am to chat with my roommate before he heads to work, and I see him off. Despite being groggy, I take a jog and exercise for a bit, then come back, shower, and eat. I'm ready by 8am. I sit down for 4 hours to write. By noon I have written ten pages of fiction. At noon I take a break, check my email, and make myself lunch while I browse the boards and catch up on my friends here and elsewhere on the net. I decide what else I need to write, and at 1pm I get back to work, probably doing some E.N. Publishing work, or making a website to offer freelance writing. At 4pm, my roommate gets back, and I pester him for a ride to the Emory astronomy event my girlfriend's working at. He balks, because he wants to stay in, so I have to walk the two miles to the university. Which will be fine. But first, I write just a little more. I email Jake, Denise, and Russ - my E.N. Publishing co-workers - with some new ideas I have. I post something amusing on the boards, and then head out. The weather is gorgeous. It's cloudy, windy, and cool, the air full of that amusing pollen that turns cars in Atlanta a powdered yellow. I show up at Cat's dorm at 6pm, but she's not there, so I wander around the campus, and finally sit waiting on the roof of the astronomy building, jotting down ideas in a spiral notebook until the astronomy event starts. I hold hands with Cat, but then I get a call from Denise, saying that something key is missing in the Chainmail Bikinis book, and it needs to be fixed now, so I have to part company with Cat to go use one of the library computers to fix the problem. While I'm there, I wave hi to my old supervisor at the library, and she tells me she couldn't reach me earlier in the day, but that I've got a job interview for a job there at the library. I manage to restrain myself until I see Cat again, and that is when I do the happy dance. The astronomy event goes on without a hitch, the clouds having kindly parted for us, and in the wee hours of the night, Cat and I sit together, holding hands and watching weird movies with the astronomy staff. As the evening is ending, for a moment we're alone, and Cat gives me a kiss for good luck. That would be pretty close to perfect for me. Just pleasure is no good. You've got to earn it. Now, I need to set my alarm. *grin* Blessings to you all.
