Hello, I'm looking for some advice on how to run the trial in Ber based on my PC's actions. After arriving in the capital, they gave the officer the slip and explored town a little bit, making some random stops. Along the way, they managed to spot one of the tails Rush had set after them. They intimidated him, then stealthily tracked him back to the hideout. They attacked Rush's hideout, and didn't have too much trouble subduing the group there (Rush did make his escape), and I decided move the Glaucia encounter to here since she was tracking them down anyway to serve as character witnesses. This puts the PC's (and me) in a tricky spot, as the police and an Executor just caught them attacking a local residence. My current plan of attack is to have the PC's go on a quick trial before Brakken, so account for their actions before they can act as a character witness in the other trail. I expect that unless they argue very well, they will receive a light-moderate beating and be given strict instructions to involve local police before attempting anything like that again. But, I'm looking for any advice on how other people would handle the trials. Would you have the PC's put on trial, or just fined, or some other punishment? Would you have their trial before or after Brakken's? Would representing themselves poorly in their trial reflect badly in Brakken's trial? Any other ideas or advice I haven't considered yet, or general advice about running the main trail scene? Thank you.
