Session 89c - Fallout @ HQ The fallout from the mission was as follows:

Damage to the Kell Guild sufficient to merit a 'strike'.
Unit B deemed a target for guild reprisal and taken off the case for the time being.
Despite the success of the mission, Theren Silverspire's leadership came into question. With a team member and an officer lost, and his own life in serious jeopardy, Stover Delft and Dima felt that he was not best suited for leading urban missions. For the time being, Professor Marcione would lead the team, though Theren's rank was maintained.
The release of Azure Lord Blackthorn had several ramifications: First and foremost, he was able to point to identify Lorcan Kell as the man who had assaulted him, amputated his wings and transported him to Lepage's illegal pixie farm. This news was greeted with excitement by the RHC hierarchy and seemed to set some well-oiled wheels in motion. Alpha Unit was now put in charge of a squad of sixty men and tasked with bringing down Lorcan Kell and his criminal empire. But secondary questions persisted, and Blackthorn's account appeared to implicate members of Alpha Unit in an attempted murder conspiracy...
One final important event occurred a few days after the mission. The unit arrived at HQ to find the staff ashen faced were quickly ushered into their office, where they found Sevitar Anrathi sitting on his chair in the corner, arms folded. When they entered he stood and greeted them as if nothing had happened, although he expressed surprise that his return from the Bleak Gate 'had been a lot easier than last time'. (Later, the Professor read Sevitar's file and learned some important information about him. Sevitar was an 'agent of the crown' long before the establishment of the RHC, who - along with his team - had pursued an evil necromancer into the Bleak Gate near Cauldron Hill and disappeared. That was fifty years ago...) DM's Note: This all took place around the beginning of 'week 10' of the downtime scenario, just a day after the Dawn Square Rally. (For clarity, that is week 12 of Winter, and the last week of the year 500 AOV.) Our next session - be that next week or whenever it happens - will start on 8th Spring 501 AOV, with unit A meeting King Aodhan. I plan to detail what happened at the rally, and during the next two weeks (since unit A's last session where they stopped Rumdoom opening a portal for the Deep Ones) in flashback, though the players will still be offered choices about what they did in that time. If my wife gives birth before then, this first session of Cauldron Born will occur whenever normal service resumes, otherwise it will serve to whet the players' appetites.
