I'm curious. Has anybody participated or worked on a Zombie Walk? I'm on the executive board of a starting up Zombie Walk for Spring, TX. We just held our 2nd annual walk raising money for Cystic Fibrosis. quadrupled our head count from 20 to 80 and doubled the donations. Folks pay $1 to walk, but some passersby also donate. Presumably this explains why the loot increase did't grow at the same %. A friend of mine is big into Zombies, so this is his annual passion. I'm the organizational idea man and zombie wrangler (I dressed up as Ash from Army of Darkness, being too lazy to do the makeup, but not too lazy to make a chainsaw hand). Per my original question, I'm interested in folks' experience with how they are run, associated activities at the event. For our event, we: sign-in and photos start at 3pm (pics go on the facebook page) announcements, rules, etc at 4pm around Olde Town Spring (tourist trap north of Houston). start the walk and get back before 5pm invite hordes of zombies to eat at one of the restaurants in town (that we've already cleared bringing a horde of zombies) we also mention some of the other zombie friendly events going on in town (some shop ran a Night of the Living Dead and Rocky Horror film after 7, and a few bars had costume parties). Is this typical for a zombie event? I figure it takes folks a long time to get made up, so it would be good to maximize their fun factor. we had a couple of make-up stations to do up walk-on zombies (folks who didn't come made-up). Charged $5 a piece. The whole thing is volunteer run/donated supplies/equipment, and didn't have any expenses, so the money goes straight to the Cystic Fibrosis charity.
