Zombies.

My wife is really into zombies.

I'm wondering what zombie driven adventures are out there (any system, any edition)?

I know of AFMBE, but don't know if they have adventures.

I'm looking for a little more than "throw a bunch of zombies at her"...hence the hope for good adventures.

Advice?

Weekend Warriors is several years old but is a well written adventure about Army Reservists that get attacked by zombies. I enjoyed it and it did come befroe the current zombie craze which I think helps.

a great story...easily adaptable to whatever game you want

But i suggest you dwnl..."get" the original as well for the Art/Theme/Mood.

It's not really zombie driven, but there is a D&D 3E adventure set in Kalamar that has an optional "zombie apocalypse" scenario you can add on to the end. It's called "The Fall of Liaven" I believe. And, what DM wouldn't use an optional zombie apocalypse scenario? It's generic enough to pop into most worlds, I think.

It basically has the PCs on a magically protected pirate-dominated island - so, you have lots of pirates and a few other interesting NPCs, with an optional zombie scenario at the end.

Speaking of Kenzer - they have an outstanding Old West game called Aces & Eights (for which you can buy the pdf on their website).

Last October, my gaming studio released optional Zombie Rules for Aces & Eights. It's a free pdf that you can also download from the KenzerCo site. It's about 70 pages of zombie rules, including a zombie adventure.

We even came up with rules for Piano Falling Damage, should you want to try to drop one on those suckers... :)

As a designer, I'd like to maybe swerve this discussion to the *elements* of a good Zombie game, if I wanted to run one myself.

I suppose one theme is having hordes of zombies, and a place to run into and from them in.

For D&D what is needed is some way to make these low-level mooks into a threat for all characters involved.

1) What's the source of the zombies? Can you really find that many dead folks?
2) What are the resources the PCs have? Can you stretch those out somehow?
3) Where are the PCs?
4) Do the PCs need to just hole up and fend off hordes, or can you force them to sneak out and save survivors?
5) What are the overall effects on the Setting? Longterm?
and
6) What kind of zombies are these?
