(ie: corollary: How many settings are quite suitable as second-round candidates, obviously you'll be looking at them in further details).Have you been through every mail yet?  (ie: are you now in deep thaught about which settings are most intresting?)Have you come across any settings that are definately going to be in the second round (they're that good)?Does it look like - barring committee decision, and this is future speculation - there will be more than 10 entries going forward for the second round?How many people are on the settings committee?Are you having fun, or are you struggling to breath between cuploads of coffee ?Are we, the players and GMs, going to get a good setting?Will the winner become the favored core setting for D&D by WotC... for the next 10 years?  (replacing DL, GH, FR as the core worlds that have been the focus of DnD for the last 20 years.  Its about time.  Having 1 new setting every year is a bit of a joke.  some campaigns last years, and we all know what happened to MtG which has an expansion every 6 months, invalidating a whole lot of prior stuff.).Will the WotC team critique each of the second rounders giving hints/tips/suggestions on the second round submissions?  Ie: in the next round of 10, each may be a brilliant setting, each with 1 flaw which the author may not have picked up.  (might be a marketing problem, or an influence which will make it sell badly).  Will the Comm give a constructive critique of the setting so that each entrant has a good chance of not elaborating flaws in his/her setting.Will the second round entrants have the opportunity to critique the required second round template ?  (I recommend that there is at least a template for the first 5 pages, with the remaining 4 pages given to the structural creativity of the entrant).Will maps be required in the second round ? (I hope not).Will each entrant have access to WotC artists for the artwork required during the creation of the 100 page settings worldbook?  (Artwork would be good.  Maps and special illustrations are usually better drawn by a professional artist, with the entrant describing what is required.)Will services offered by WotC to the final 3 entrants be at the cost of the entrant? (ie: deducted from the $20,000 and $100,000?)  (I hope not, thats a bit cheap).Are there special software tools that WotC uses, that the final 3 will have access to?  (I believe, according to the contract signed, that entrants have access to all WotC intellectual property in their proposal.  So why not custom software?  Obviously, if the proposal isnt acquired by WotC(final3), that intellectual property put forward in the proposal cant be 'sold', as the entrant doesnt own the intellectual property).Will the world book be put forward as a saleable product or an internal document from which to build saleable products?Will the author be clearly recognised as the author of the setting, on all subsequent published material?  (not masked in small print.  This can further someones carear, or keep the person unknown... at the use of different fontsizes).Will we get a hardcover world book?When is the expected publishing timeframe in which the new new setting will be published?Will the 'winning' entrant have any say in the future of their setting?  100 pages may seem like alot, but i'm sure any good settings author may have ideas about certain effects and mechanics within their world.  They may not necessarily have pages to put all their ideas in the 100 page bible.  eg: mythdrannor and waterdeep were probably not done in high detail in the origional forgotten realms.  Possibly a page or less?Will those that will elaborate on the world bible ask and work with the origional author?  (Even though there is no requirement for them to do so?)If the selected 'winning' entrant has a good idea for cardgame/boardgame mechanics, will it be possible for the entrant to be the 'author' of the cardgame/boardgame?  (The author may have left unique setting hooks on which boardgames/cardgames may be based.)What is the flight speed of african and european swallows?---Anyone have any other questions of intrest?Will they read this?Anyone able to mail it to them to get some answers?-Tim</blockquote>
