Maybe they have decided that the winner of the fantasy setting submission actually wins D&D, that's the $100000 prize.

Could be...but, it seems to me, it's just too early for that. I figure Hasbro will milk D&D for another year.

It might be something as mundane as a D&D TV series, or the aquisition of a license, or the like.

Then why is the WotC booth at Origins not selling any product?

Got me.

Some reasons:
a)They didn't get it shipped in on time.
b)They don't view Origins as a venue for sales, but for showing off upcoming products
c)Some random other reason.

Or, of course, it could be because D&D is no longer owned by WOTC. I suppose we'll know in a few hours or days.

Beware of the "only possible explanation" fallacy.
"I heard there's a terrorist with a nuclear bomb in the SF Airport!"
"That seems unlikely."
"Then why did I see police car go past my house, heading towards the airport?"

Good points, all. It's "wait & see" time.
