*After refitting the armour, the group trudges slowly towards the horses at the speed of their armoured comrade. As they approach, they hear a strange sound, and then there is a skittering as if of a retreat as they draw near, shadows flitting just out of sight in the distance at the far end of the dip...And then they see the horses or what is left of them...there is at least one partially-eaten corpse, and two of them seem to be gone--perhaps fled or carried away, only Kallie seems to be alive and present, though she appears to have tripped and fallen onto her side and had trouble getting up--perhaps why she was saved for last?*

(OOC: Okey dokey--whatever did this seems to have fled already)

ooc: Yes, but leaving your shields down when the bad guys 'seems to' have fled tends to lead to sharp teeth embedded in your posterior! :)

On reaching the horses, Ironwolf will look about quickly for clues as to what it was that attacked the horses. Any prints, for example?

*Whatever attacked seems to have been eating and ripping appart the fallen corpse of the horse with sharp claws or teeth. There are footprints leading off, but nobody in the group is good at tracking, so they can't really identify them beyond the fact that they are medium-sized.*

"Well, they have footprints, so they aren't some sort of ghost wolf or anything. I wonder if the horses got any of them?"

Ironwolf will look around for dead predators. Surely the horses put up some sort of fight?

Is Dream the ripped up horse, or one of the missing ones?

Ironwolf will whistle for Dream, on the off chance the horse will respond. He'll also check where he had tied Dream, to see if there is any sign of the horse pulling free.
