Our own Jonrog1, author of the incredibly good X-Files-esque story hour Drunk southern Girls With Guns, Zombie Toddlers, and Bad Aliens, also happens to be a professional screenplay writer. His new show debuts this Wednesday night at 8:00 pm on the USA Network. It's called John Woo presents Red Skies.

Rumor has it we won't be disappointed. Watch it, and post what you think! Personally, I think it's freakin' cool when an EN Worlder hits the big time. Congrats, Jon!

By the way, John Woo is directing one of the next BMW films! Can't wait!

We're trying to do a John Woo/Johnny To style crime drama with lots of action. Vivian Wu is a Beijing military police officer chasing a gang lord on an illegal refugee smuggling ship. When it's raided by the FBI, her partner's killed and she teams up with the Agents to get her man.

Gun-fu, chick-fu, explosions, and witty banter ensue.

So far the reviews by people who get it are good (the LA DAILY NEWS dug it), and the people who don't get it are either annoyed there's too much violence mixed in with the banter or too much banter breaking up the action (not kidding).

I've been accused of "gratuitous violence". Finally! :)
