Ballista scratches her head thinking about the first arch they encountered with glowing crystals set around it. "Hey what colors were around the first arch? This might be some kind of legend. The riddle at the beginning said something about the colors corresponding to monsters. Maybe this is which colors mean which monsters are where?" Ballista rummages around in her pack and produces a bit of parchment and charcoal, then jots down the list.

OOC: She remembers the previous arch, the base stones glowed yellow on the left, orange on the right, and the keystone 7 feet above glowed blue.

Grackle follows the others, worried, and then sees the murals. Though panic still flows into him from the empathic link with his familiar, Grackle can't help but be fascinated by all the pretty colors and pictures...... So he stands around for a bit just staring raptly at the walls, dribbling a bit.

Eventually, he actually pays attention to the content, and asks "Izzat what killed shiny-armor-man? Did we get silvery thing from it? If we did, is it shiny?"

Zorn studies the figures and the spheres trying to make some sense of it all.

Just once it would be nice if someone would just say here is the treasure, spend wisely. Is that too much to ask? At this point I would settle for a simple sign telling us how to open the damn door.

With cocked eyebrow, Ballista smirks at the dwarf. "Its not like its a giant spiked door stumpy, but just a misty gateway. We're trying to figure out if the colors of the crystals correspond to what type of beasty is on the other side so we might be a little better prepared next time...and maybe none of us will die."

ooc: What dwarf do you mean? I thought Garagos was the only one left.

Garagos, AC 29 (T19, FF27), HP 98/107, DR 3/-, F +11,R+6,W+10

"Hrm, weren't there colors in the riddle we found?" Garagos says a bit confused.

Jillian looks up and down the hall at the different creatures and colored spheres. Then she moves next to the gold sphere held above head by a naga. She points at the naga and turns to look at the others. "The message from the gargoyle said to look high and low for gold to hear a tale untold. This one is holding a gold sphere." Then she moves next to the black sphere held at feet by a hydra. She points at the hydra and turns to the others. "The riddle said night’s good color is for those of great valor. Is that black? This one is holding a black sphere." Finally she moves to the red sphere held waist high by a skeleton. She points at the skeleton and turns to the others. "The riddle also said if shades of red stand for blood the wise will not need sacrifice aught but a loop of magical metal. This one is holding a red sphere." She steps back to the middle of the hall. "Should we try gold first?"
