Possibilities:

1) The Rouse will be replacing Rush Limbaugh as "the face" of the consortium vying to buy the St. Louis Rams.

2) The Rouse will replace The Hoff. I mean like a universal replace (minus the drinking, though).

None of you can comprehend The Rouse's true plans. As we speak (or as you read to be more percise), he is hatching a plot like none you have ever seen before! But I given away too much...

unless my giving it away was just another part of the plan....

Gaming employers in the Puget Sound region

I'm a local (well, transplant, but I've lived here 10 years), and the folks I know personally who are in the "professional gamer" world in some way work at Microsoft, Nintendo, and Valve.

Nintendo's US offices are in Redmond, right in with some Microsoft stuff.

Oh, Big Fish is yet another (electronic) gaming company, and I know two people who interviewed, but didn't get jobs.

And Electronic Arts is big north of the border, but Vancouver ain't technically Seattle, so probably not there.

Oh, and PennyArcade is here, but I don't know if they have employees.

Plus, I'm sure there's a ton of small electronic and non-electronic game companies, like the guys who invented Cranium are from here. Random stuff like HeroClix too, I think. And I knew a guy who worked for Sierra, testing some update of Leisure Suit Larry -- yes, being a game tester can be a bad job! But I think Sierra is mostly in Nor Cal . . .

IN all likelihood, moving to any other CCG or Tabletop company would be a downward move.

One man's "downward move" is another man's "opportunity for exciting challenge and growth". Not everyone is relentlessly trying to climb "up". A slightly lower salary can be balanced by less stress and a few perqs.

He might be subject to a non-compete clause regarding tabletop games or roleplaying games. I'm guessing he'll land with a videogame company.
