Time check: after fight and short rest is 2:10 PM.

Here's what I have after your healing:

Chaku - 28/33 (9/12) AP: 0
Kaeysari* - 24/28 (6/10) AP: 0
Papolstaanas - 33/36 (10/13) AP: 1
Azryah - 28/28 (7/9) AP: 1
Jynxx - 21/24 (8/8) AP: 1
Cillani** - 21/23 (6/7) AP: 0

* Kaeysari: Healing starts from 0, so I think you're at 24, not 25: 7 + 5 + 7 + 5.

** Cillani: Jynxx's Song of Rest gives you +5 hp per surge, so you only have to spend one surge to get to 21 hp. :)

[sblock=Charm]Also, this is your chance to switch to air manifestation if you want. Let me know, otherwise I'll assume you stay in fire.[/sblock]

"Sir, we were hired to get the beans," she says. "I'm afraid that if there is a chance of getting any back, we can't take you back to Fulcrum yet."

Krassus shakes his head. "No, no!" he says. "You can't be thinking of going after those maniacs? Please - that would be foolish. There were too many of them! Fifteen at least! You wouldn't stand a chance!"

He mops his forehead, which is beaded with sweat. The inside of the hut, crowded as it is, has gotten pretty stifling. "And - who knows what they can do? You saw what Planhoein really was. There's something else, I forgot to mention. The dwarf that lead them.. he did something to some of the zocalti trees outside here. He took a snake - a viper - and, well, I don't know how to describe it exactly. He chanted something then pressed it up to the tree, and the snake just somehow went in to the tree. Right away, the bark started peeling and the pods swelled up. Planhoein did the same thing to another tree, too. Don't you see, it's too dangerous to go after them! And besides, who knows where they've gone?"

Cillani sat quietly to the side, healing and observing her fellows question the man. As the man seemed to finish his story she knew that he'd left something out. "So tell us friend why are you holding back on us, here we've risked ourselves to save you and you don't tell us everything?! That's not very nice" Her words held a hint of impatience.

The Imperial's face turns purple. "What? Are you calling me a liar? Do you think I had something to do with this, this massacre? That's preposterous! They wanted me dead - you saw that with your own eyes!" He looks towards Kaesari for support.

Chaku stands up at the insult of Cillani, looming large. Yes, we mean to go after them. We were hired to get the beans, and we will get the beans. I dislike you calling my comrade a liar. As she said, we saved your life, and you repay us by withholding information. That makes me... upset. The maul shifts from one hand to the other. Your life was never part of our deal with Hedra, and in Surtyr, we cull the weak from the herd. Now please tell this woman what you aren't, or I will finish what I stopped them from doing. A look of sad acceptance crosses his face as the maul shifts back and forth.

[sblock=OOC]Don't know if you want an intimidate check or not, I'm not trying to really intimidate him, I'm telling him the truth. He is a liability to our mission if he A: withholds info and B: makes us waste time.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]1. He didn't accuse Cillani of being a liar, he said she accused him of being a liar... which she almost, sort of did, though not quite... It doesn't really matter, maybe Chaku misheard him. :)

2. Sure, make an Intimidate check! Chaku may be telling the truth but he's also trying to intimidate him. :)[/sblock]

[sblock=Teddybear]:lol:

I'm giving you a healthy circumstance bonus to that check, but still... teddybear, yeah. :lol:[/sblock]

The plantation manager seems more exasperated than intimidated by the barbarian's threat. He throws up his hands. "All right, look. Planhoein wasn't just toying with me. He thought I had more zocalti stashed away. He was killing the remaining workers in front of me, one by one, in order to try to get me to tell him where this imaginary zocalti was. I didn't tell you this because it wasn't important..."

[sblock=Insight DC 12 (active)]This sounds true, and probably more that he didn't think it was important, he was ashamed of his fear and helplessness.

[sblock=Inisight DC 21 (same roll)]You also think that he does actually have some zocalti stashed away. That's part of the shame.[/sblock][/sblock]

"Sir, I..." Kaeysari stammers. "I... Ms. Silverships suspected there was a problem, that's why we were hired. I certainly don't think you had anything to do with these killings. They were trying to kill you. We saw that. But you're not telling us everything. If we can't get the beans we'll get you back to safety, but there's more going on here than just a random attack. She thought you might be..."

Bah! Chaku spits out in disgust, I will be outside, call me when something needs to be punched, I'm no good in conversations. Look around before you come out, I'll be dealing with those plumped up beanpods. Chaku stomps out, grabbing any easily thrown rocks, branches, or bowls.

While outside, he will look around for any of those bloated beanpods and start chucking random items //not any actual weaponry// at the pods from 20 feet trying to get them to pop. After the first few attempts, it reminds him of games he played in his youth over who can knock down the most icepears or get closest to the jarl without him noticing. Time drifts by a Chaku gets lost in his newfound game of detrapping the area.

[sblock=OOC]Chaku is annoyed, and wants to feel useful, and social banter is NOT how he is useful, lol. He's gonna go from tree to tree tagging any even remotely suspcious pods with just about anything he can pick up to trigger them and let the winds disperse the poison. He will do this all while staying upwind (using the smoke a guide) to make sure he doesn't get poisoned himself.

Oh yeah, and since I rolled it, obviously Insight failbot! 1d20+2=7[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Muahaha, by the time Jynxx posts again, we'll have turned this diplomatic situation into a hellhole of epic proportions!

Ah yes, the rolls: Charisma; Insight DC 12 1d20-1=1 1d20+1=2

I rolled generic charisma just to give myself an idea of how incoherent to make this speech :) The specific skill doesn't matter as Papolstaanas sucks equally at all of them.[/sblock]
Seeing his friends so frustrated, Papolstaanas can't contain himself any longer.

"N-now wait a minute," he says, getting up and jabbing his finger in Krassus's direction. "That, that can't be everything, be-because Miz Hedra said that, I mean we know there were delays, that's true. Miz Hedra told us th--And you say that there were workers that weren't showing up, and that's how Plath-, Planto-, P-Plah, whatever his name got in--we're not accusing you of st-, of engineering this, um, this horrib-, this attack, that's not, that's not it at all. But what, what about that buyer--Hedra said you didn't say anything about delays, I mean at first, you said there was another buyer. So what, what was that about, I mean if there were just a few worker problems, at that time I mean, before everything went really bad and this, um, this, um, devastation took--" Papolstaanas pauses, having got himself into a seemingly hopeless tangle, but soon manages to start up again.

"I mean if the only issue was a few worker delays, why didn't you tell Miz Hedra that, I mean fr-from the start? What was this about a buyer? What are, what are you trying to get from not telling us everything? Be-, because, we have a job to do, we need to get the zo-zocalti delivered, we, we promised, and you owe us, at-at least that much...! I, so, don't, um, don't..." Papolstaanas trails off, sure that there was some intended finish to that sentence when he started it, but not quite able to recollect what it was.
