"But the moon is out already," says Papolstaanas, sounding a little worried. "We'd best get started as quickly as possible. Hadn't we? I--I have some food in my pack, if you're hungry." He digs into his pack and offers Gil some cheese and dried fruit.
Tristan gives Gil a wry smirk. "Taking time to eat now may keep us from closing on our quarry tonight. We should go to this safe house and speak to the eladrin's contact here. Hopefully he can tell us about the attacks in greater detail, or about Vilk. I don't hold any hope that the locations of the attacks still hold clues after these months.
"We could also go to Vilk's home directly. If indeed he is the culprit and is out tonight, I may be able to track him."
Frowning, Gil dejectedly follows the group, taking the proffered fruit and cheese.
Actually, this tastes pretty good, what kind of cheese is this? inquires the scholar of Papolstaanas,
Is the name the same in Draconic?
After pulling a double take on Tristan for the mention of Vilk,
Lead on then, apparently we need to be somewhere we can't be heard...
[sblock=OOC story of my youth...]
So when I was in first grade, my parents saddled me with the burden of raking the yard. If I finished, they agreed to pay me a whole 5 dollars!
As I was young and naive, I assumed that my parents would pay everyone who raked the lawn 5 dollars. (Not 5 dollars for a raked lawn.)
So I invited all the neighborhood kids to help me, as the job would be completed much faster and with less work this way. I offered each person who helped 5 dollars for raking the lawn.
Once we finished, I presented my party of six or so neighborhood kids for our 5 dollars.
My parents were shocked to find I had done this, and informed me they would pay 5 dollars to have the yard raked but could not afford 5 dollars per person who raked the yard. (Had I asked before implementing my plan this would have been made apparent.)
So it was revealed that everyone would get less than a dollar... The neighborhood children were not very happy with me over the issue, nor were my parents.
In the end, I learned several valuable lessons and felt terrible for a while. Thankfully, Gil has not learned these yet.
