Have a character up on the wikia by the name of Jericho, the statistics and gear are in place if anyone has time to double check them. Description and demeanor are rough drafts, and I have some questions before finishing the background, so not ready for approval yet.

As to those questions: What kinds of goods would be considered illicit in Venza, and other heavily settled places on the eastern continent or the continent at large?

Poison, drugs, slaves, black necromantic magics, trappings of worship of dark gods are ones that immediately come to mind.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm realizing now how broad of a question I had originally asked. Those being the general things is good to know, but what I'm more interested in are things restricted not based on morality or danger but rather due to politics, cultural taboos, and economic policy/industrial influence. Something along the lines of bows obviously made in Harran being prohibited from sale in Rorn, books in general being outlawed in sections of Heth, or prohibitively high protective tariffs on foreign potions in a city known for its alchemy school.

Ah, that is a much more penetrating question than I initially realized. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for that one. E'n cultures/politics/economies are very much painted in broad strokes (in most cases) with details left up to whatever shakes out of adventures (and notoriously hard to find and get added to the wiki). Hammering out some things like this would be an awesome discussion worthy of its own thread.

The concept I had in mind when fleshing out the character is a courier who cares more for his own morals and turning a profit than following rules for their own sake. The question of just what kind of goods he might transport that fit into that motivation, or be caught and detained for carrying, is likely to come up as I go into detail on the background.

I've finished the description and demeanor sections, and added the major points of his background in. They're a bit vague, but cover a range of relationships with a handful of individuals and organizations, upbringing that motivates his approach to problems, and offer a metric butt-load of potential hooks and opportunity for overlap. Could use feedback on what, if anything, doesn't fit the setting.

With early childhood in an unspecified location (maybe the unnamed area west of the Harran, or the Pell), middle childhood constantly traveling, and a relocation to Ithos, I'm not sure which regional language to give him.

Looking over Jericho, I found a few things that need fixing up.
a) The feat Fast Learner has a prerequisite of INT 13. Jericho only has a 12 at the moment.
b) You have Toughness listed as a source of bonus HP in the combat section, but didn't take the feat.
c) You have Heavy Hitter listed as a trait. As far as I can tell, that is from the Dragon Empire Primer which is not one of our allowed sources. With a proposal, the judges could mull over if we want to include it. It is a bit strong as a trait for a monk, because it becomes a nearly automatic +1 damage trait for them. Most other damage traits have some conditional attached to them.
d) In the Details section, you refer to him as Jerix. I corrected one, but left the other in there incase it was on purpose.
e) Good fluff. A little busy, but I can see it working. The twins idea is interesting.

So, a little more sorting out to do. Looking good so far though.
