DeWar, if it fits (or can fit) with your character's background to be an employee (in whatever capacity you desire, within the scope of reason) of Sir Upjohn, a knight and a warrior of some renown in and around Lauralie Summerhome, then you can write yourself into the action at your convenience.

No hurry. Do it, or don't, as you wish, and we'll make it all work out.

Hey, you should click the Burl Ives version of that song if you want to hear it done by someone who can actually sing!

I still haven't talked to Scotley about it, but I figure that he'll agree you can/should join. His D&D time has been spent lately developing and starting his new game DM'ed with mleibrock, so he may be taking longer than usual to reply.

That game is pretty much straight out of the module, so it is taking minimal time on my part now that the characters are done. You've just been doing such a fine job here it was more fun to watch than post. I have to say that I completely forgot about your character Dewar. I'm most embarrassed.

You are certainly welcome. I will review and fire off an email to my co-DM with thoughts on working your character into the game tonight. Maybe we'll give you an extra experience point or three for the delay. :]

I have to agree that Johnny, though having been very successful with the song, is not the best singer of it. I kinda like Marty Robbins' version. I think he brings a cowboy aesthetic that fits the song well. If you want to hear a really obscure version try to find Debbie Harry's (of Blonde) version from an art movie soundtrack about 15 years back. Her vocals are good, but the techno music behind it is too much for me.

Hey Leif, this is the last paragraph:

*********
Some say that his luck took a downturn when he got caught, where others say it was good luck. He was a model prisoner. This got the attention of a guard. When his sentence was up the guard gave him a plan: join his uncle in investigative forces or return to his old line of work with a permanent state sanctioned tail on him. Can't do much burglary doing that. The plus is that he would be magically altered to hide his prior identity, will receive no brand and will be part of law enforcement. Well, that would be an easy choice to make. His first case would be part of a team that was to investigate a slave trafficking ring. That was completed after 6 months and the team has returned. All members were split to other groups to match their skills. He was being sent to the constable of the 14th ward. A badge and truncheon were handed to him and told to report.

And now here he is.

*********

Adding who he get set to report to is as simple as adding this as the last sentance:

********

A badge and truncheon were handed to him and told to report.

And now here he is. In his hand are the papers stating who he was, what a few of his skills were and who he was to report to - one Sir Upjohn. Well, best hurry, no need to start this new chapter of his life on the wrong foot.

re ghost riders:

beril Ives: I love how clear his voice was - you can here and easily understand the words.

blondie: had to listen to it as it was in the play list. Interesting.

DeWar, your character will NOT report to Sir Upjohn, he will report to Magistrate Ignatius Ironshirt of the 14th Ward of Lauralie Summerhome. Magistrate Ironshirt will then tell him that he should join the rest of his Alpha Squad who are presently visiting one Sir Upjohn a (relatively) short ride outside the city walls, who is a local celebrity and occasional sparring partner of Constable Alarion who just happens to be a member of said Alpha Squad.

I agree that Burl Ives did a most excellent job of singing "Ghost Riders". It still seemed a little weird to me to have Santa Claus singing that song.
