[INDENT=]Vakeva takes in the splendid accommodations with a look of mild nervousness on his bluff features. He wanders around the sitting room, running fingers over the furniture and fine fabrics as he passes. He goes to peer from the window for a moment, and then gathers his kit and heads for the bath. His eyes light up when he takes in the simple, elegant design of the tubs and their mechanism for controlling the water temperature. Without a moment's hesitation he strips down and fairly leaps into the steaming water, brusquely declining the manservant's offer of aid. "Lad, I was bathing m'self when your father's da was in swaddling, and his father, and likely his own father before that. I thank y' fer the offer, but I can manage." And so he does, stripping the bandages from his wounds and making sure they won't bleed into the bath water - at least too much - and then indulging in a long, hot soak after scrubbing himself down thoroughly.

Once finished, he pulls a clean tunic and drawers from his sack, dresses himself and heads down to the commons to find his companions.

Denir goes in and nods to Banaq but declines any food or drink. He instead heads upstairs and lets the servant clean his armor. He though, sits on the floor and takes out his own kit. He spends a good hour carefully sharpening and cleaning the sword. The Arm of Kord must be treated with reverence and kept in pristine condition. Once his holy symbol is properly cared for, he strips his own clothes and climbs into the tub, drawing only cold water into the tub. He scrubs himself clean with only the coarse soap before rinsing again with cold water. Cleaned, Denir dresses in clean brown leather pants, and a white, sleeveless shirt with open cording at the neck. His tanned arms and chest made the shirt look brighter, even as his heavily muscled arms and chest strained the seams. Denir then straps on his sword again. He leaves his armor behind as he heads downstairs to join those partaking. He feels no need to eat or drink, but does enjoy a strong ale for the taste. He sits with Banaq and order his ale, savoring the rare taste.

The servants are kept busy feeding wood into the stoves to heat water, but there is enough for all.

Back in the common room the ale and wine being served strike you as being better than ordinary fare. Indeed looking about you can see that the ale and wine being served you is coming from behind the bar rather than from casks set atop it. Most of the officers do not linger, but eat quickly and return to duties. Getting the army settled into the ruins that were once a great city is a monumental challenge.

Sir Sheldon keeps the talk at the meal polite and respectful, but does not bring up their actions of late. He will excuse himself after completing his meal. He heads to his room to drop off his armor and his weapons. He precleans in the room's basin wraps a towell around himself. he ties his dagger sheath to himself and heads to the bath room.

Getting into the water he bares himself by removing his towel. He has no modesty issues as he was enslaved with the intent of being sacrificed. His junk hangs down while a dagger is clearly strapped to his leg, which gets submurged with him. He takes to scrubbing himself with a smile on his face.

"AHHHHhhhh!" He so needed a good washing. Once done he exits without any further ado, he steps out of the tub, grabs his towel and returns to his room to pray.

Banaq - Elf Sorcerer L6 - Archmage T1

Banaq thoroughly indulges in gustatory delights with Sir Sheldon, and they welcome Denir when he arrives and joins them. After eating his fill of braised swine, lentils, and honey bread, Banaq excuses himself to the men's side of their quarters and bathes for an hour, or thereabouts, taking a nap while partially submerged. Then, suitably refreshed, he dons breeches and tunic, leaving his voluminous cloak stored in his room with the rest of his things for the moment, and moves into the common area of their suite looking for his comrades. Without his sorcerer's cloak that is decorated with symbols and glyphs astrological, arcane, and astronomical, Banaq looks like any other elf.

Queen of Everything
Meliara spent a long time scrubbing off the dirt and demon filth and relaxing her tired, beat up muscles in the hot water. She traced the long red scratch on her thigh with her finger and tried not to think about how it got there. She luxuriously let the attendant help wash her long red hair. She finally reluctantly dragged herself out of the water and returned to her room, where her one nice dress was laid out. The velvet plum color was her favorite and the dress was lovingly trimmed in delicate gold beading. Her Aunt had made her this dress, she said it was a copy of what her mother would have worn when she was younger so Lia could just not bare to be without it. She normally had her wavy hair in a no nonsense braid or two but now she left her hair down so it would dry.

As she walked down the stairs and neared the kitchen her belly rumbled with hunger. She sees Denir in the crowd and waves, making her way over to him. She quickly orders wine and food for herself. She nibbles on a piece of bread and asks, "Where is everyone else? I thought for sure I would be the last one down. And news of the Queen?"

"Most seemed to have eaten first, and then retired to clean themselves. Though none could clean up as well as you Meliara." replies Denir with broad and genuine smile. Though he no longer needs to, he does eat and drink, especially when in such exquisite company. He therefore reaches for a piece of hard cheese and a glass of wine and eats and drinks with the sorceress. "From what we have heard the Queen is here. She is busy reestablishing control over the city and deploying her forces. The loss of the wardstone and dragon are most worrisome to her. She is eager to meet us however. We have become her champions here as it were and she wishes to know our exploits and what we know. All of which has Sheldon sweating and shaking like a novice." laughs the muscular warpriest. He stands and refills Meliara's glass of wine as well as his own and reaches for a bite of dried sausage.

"Did the warm water cleanse your soul as well as your flesh after your immersion with the filth that was Faxon?" he asks.

"Did the warm water cleanse your soul as well as your flesh after your immersion with the filth that was Faxon?" he asks.

Lia chuckles, "Yes, I suppose it did. We'll find out for sure tonight when I sleep, we'll see if it haunts me or not. We have seen much worse, that's for certain." She pauses, taking a long drink of wine. "Okay, so that wasn't the smartest thing I have ever done. I just thought we needed to get information from him! How was I to know he had just what we needed sitting on a piece of paper in an unguarded trunk right in the very next room?" she says stubbornly.

Thorn had managed to beat Lia to the bath on the girls' side, but she didn't hang around to chat. Indeed, in stark contrast to the menfolk's lack of modesty, Thorn wrapped herself in a towel the instant she was out of the water, got dressed in her leather breeches and dark grey linen shirt, and hurried out as Meliara got ready for her own bath...sparing a word of farewell, but keeping her eyes averted.

She didn't join the others right away, and when she did she came in from the outside and was in good enough spirits to give everyone one of her rare smiles as she took her seat.

"So, what are we talking about? The Queen? It's nice she's showing up and all, though it would have been nice to have those forces before the city burned."

"There was no way to know. You showed true courage to face him alone and get what information you could out of him." says Denir with a smile. "We should tell the Queen of your heroic exploit. Few people would willingly place themselves in such danger to fight the forces of the Abyss."

He reaches out to pat her knee encouragingly, but retracts if after she convulsively flinches. His face falls, and he stiffens "I am sorry, I didn't mean to offend you."
