Well, if you can somehow acquire updated Eberron game mechanics without simultaneously acquiring updated Eberron story and fluff, then congratulations! Hope it works out for ya!

They did basically update the mechanics but not the fluff in a UA article on Eberron early on.

Does no one else actually want to talk about the book, because everyone else seems more interested in argueing about everything EXCEPT Xanather's Guide to Everything.

What is there to talk about? Everything we know that's probably going to be in it has already been discussed in the individual UA threads we've made for each set of mechanics over the past six months. All this announcement says is that all that stuff that we've already argued about is appearing in a book in November.

This thread is supposed to be about the Xanathar's Guide to Everything, but instead the unofficial press corps of WotC and Hasbro can't just let go of the fact I don't like the drop in content for FR, move on with you lives and let's get back to talking about the actual Xanathar's Guide to Everything instead of obsessing over my disapproval of WotC.

I will not be responding to their obsessive silliness anymore.

Responding to your claims, refuting them, and disagreeing with your opinion, does not make anyone an unofficial press corp for WOTC. It's not that we're not able to move on with our lives or are obsessing. You're not that important to people responding to you. You posted something like everyone else does, people did what they normally do and disagreed and told you why, and now you're whining moaning and complaining that people took issue with your opinion. You will notice none of the other people in this thread who received contrary opinions to their own then went on to personally attack the people doing it and complain like they're being picked on.

If you don't want people responding to your opinion, don't post it. Me, I prefer to have the courage of my convictions and be willing to have a conversation about my opinion if I post it for others to see. If I go to a fan message board and tell those fans the thing they're fans of is barely existing and on life support, I expect people will take issue with my opinion and I will be prepared to defend my opinion. I sure won't be surprised when they take issue, or complain when they respond with a challenge.

But hey, if you prefer to just put your opinion out there and not have it challenged, might I suggest a blog format rather than a message board post instead?

I crit!
I have this feeling that these latest books are tied into the next movie. TYoP and now this other Waterdeep titled book.

I think there is likely to be stuff in it that did not appear in an UA article, like some of the spells, the new magic item rules.

While this may be true, we have nothing to go on in that regard. How can we discuss something when we know nothing about it?

Let's run the numbers:
All the subclasses to date fill around 35 pages. Downtime is 14 pages, feats are 5, traps are 13, and spells are 5. Battlesystem is 5 pages and encounter building is 4. Revised ranger is 8.
That's less than 100 pages, and we know that not all the subclasses are making it in.

There's a lot of pages of content we know nothing about...
