Was this while you were still in Louisiana?

If yes, this makes sense, in that acceptance of Wicca and other neo-pagan religions down that way has always been much more of an uphill battle than in some other areas.
Nope. Dallas area.

We moved from LA long before D&D was a thing. I was introduced to the game in CO, found gamers in KS, and have lived & gamed in TX ever since.
Let me tell you, in Austin back around '90 the Wiccans were playing a lot of D&D. There was a lot of overlap among the pagans, the SCA, and the folks from Origin Systems (makers of Ultima, Wing Commander, etc.). I never actually played D&D with Richard Garriott, but I played with a few people who played with him. I feel like I missed out, though--despite dating a wiccan and hanging out a bit in those circles, I never actually played D&D nekkid.

I was in Austin, 1990-94. Found a good great group. Even did some playtesting there. None of the gamers I knew there were pagans, AFAIK.

From this thread I have found that I would discriminate against one set of gamers.

I am thinking those bringing it up are talking about it tongue in cheek...but not sure.

If someone came to my game table in the buff (nude) I probably would immediately tell them to get dressed. I'd probably bar them from playing until they had clothes on. I think I'd also be shocked.

I don't think I'd go and play in the nude at someone else's table either, even if all the other players were doing it. I just don't think I'd feel comfortable playing that way. Maybe if I were a nudist or something, but I'm not.

I think having clothes is one area where I probably would draw the line. I think that is one area where I probably would be very prejudice and discriminatory. For me, wearing at least some clothes would be a requisite.

It just strikes me as very odd to play in the nude.

Ironically, I suppose, if one was playing via computer with others on the internet, with some programs there would be no way to tell if one was playing in the buff or not. In that instance I suppose it would be more acceptable, but right at the table IRL...I just don't feel comfortable with doing that.

I guess in that way, I would show my own prejudice or discrimination (has nothing to do with race, religion, gender, orientation, ability or disability, or anything to that arena, strictly whether they were wearing clothes or not) and from that I guess one could draw parallels of various metaphors in relation to other discrimination or prejudice.

Point of clarification: none of my Wiccan pals was asking to game nude, they just kept inviting me to skyclad events.

(Which is not my bag.)

I guess I could see how someone would take offense or not want to game with Wiccans, but really... who has time for all that? I will play with whomever, if they are good and we all have a good time.

And no... None of this is going to affect the amount of time I spend using Roll20.

Well, having played with Wiccans for 35+ years and having been one myself for almost 30 years I can also say I've never played D&D skyclad; and likely never will.

I’m thinking gaming skyclad would necessitate a LOT more dice control. Especially for those caltroppy 4 sided bastards.

I figure anyone who makes a habit of hopping over a bonfire with loins ungirded has nothing to fear from a wee polyhedron.

She does not say anything about being discriminated against by the ADnD rules.

By the rules? Moving goalpost!

We were not stipulating that the discrimination in the game was in the rules. You yourself pointed at MADD, and sure as heck they aren't in the rules.

No, we aren't talking about discrimination in the rules, specifically (though rules that limit character stats for female characters probably count), but in the hobby in general - so in the rules, in the art, in the representation of women in adventures, and how women are (or aren't) invited to join games, and how they are treated at the table.

Also: How they're treated at gaming stores, conventions, online forums, twitter, reddit, VTT's, etc...
