Hopefully they'll continue to use him as a metaphor for growing up. Him yelling "WE ARE GROOT" in the trailer gave me good feels.
I think that's straight out of the comics.

Oh man, that looks like it's gonna be an awesome send-off! I love that they used Spacehog's "In the Meantime" as the soundtrack as well. I hope it features in the movie. One of my favorite one-hit wonder songs ever.

I note that Elizabeth Debicki and Sylvester Stallone are named in the credits, so both Ayesha and Stakar will be returning, even if they aren't in the trailer (that I could see).

I haven't seen the Christmas special yet (seeing it with the family on Saturday), but I hope there's a moment where someone laughs at him for using a Zune.
