Those were rare and for charity, this is the second microtransaction within less then 30 days.

And it occurs to me that Spelljammer & DL monster Compendiums my have been intended as the first, but folks were so unhappy they decided to drop them for free instead, waiting till they had D&D Beyond.

There will be more for pay Monster Compendiums and Adventure Atlas', along with others types like maybe Volo's Races and Tasha's Classes or something. Maybe even entire small settings. We could even get more Eldraine this way with its own adventure Atlas.
It's almost like D&D fans have enjoyed micro content since June 1976

Yes, if we want to ignore a half-dozen additional races and adventures because it was connected to Extra Life, we could
We could also just answer a question without going into aggro mode.
But the fact is that they have expanded adventures and player options via DLC for years, before DnD Beyond was part of their system.
But not in an exclusive way that binds you to Beyond, which was my only point.

It's fine, though. I'm not giving WotC money ever again anyway, and this cements it.

Why do you come into every DnD thread then? Why?

we certainly disagree on this being "bad/wrong/evil" 100%. It is a distribution channel....

Because WotC isn't D&D. They did that intentionally in 2000. They can never be D&D again. They are just a steward now. And not a great one lately.

It is simple: you can love D&D, and even 5E particularly, and not like WotC design, marketing and/or business practices. This is important and i want people to understand it.

Yeah, it is amazing how so many either have forgotten or are too new to the game to know what content release schedules were like in past editions. I remember when 5e launched how strange and risky it seemed that they wouldn't be releasing new content every single month, let alone only releasing a single book or set at a time! :ROFLMAO:

I gotta admit playing other games and getting a PDF has been refreshing. Especially since I can use different viewers based on what I’m doing at the time.
I'd love a PDF...but dndbeyond is more useful as it adds stuff to the monsters, pc options (not in this case, I think), etc......
