Trailer Madame Web | Official Trailer

I think VFX are the least of this movie's worries.

What issues do you have with this movie, I think it has an interesting premise, that makes it unique among Superhero movies, a great talented and gorgeous cast, it has a sense of danger and for those that care about stakes it has those, it's not completely goofy like alot of MCU movies now, and it actually matters to the Spiderverse story arc (and by extension to the MCU in a distant way).

At least Madame Web will have very little competition, the early part of next year doesn't have any major releases, and there isn't another Superhero movies until Summer.

Heck 2024 only has a single DC and MCU movie each, neither in the main universes, Joker 2 and Deadpool 3, while Sony has 3 (perhaps 4) next year (Madame Web, Kraven, and Venom 3, maybe another Spiderverse movie if they can get it done in time).

When was the last time there was more Sony Superhero movies then DC and Marvel combined?

I was wondering how they were going to make a decent movie about an old, blind woman sitting in a chair seeing the future. This looks like a much better approach.

Here's the only version of Madame Web I knew about:

Johnathan

Some folks are wondering why she isn't maimed in this movie, not realizing this is functionally a prequel to that time.

Besides if you can have younger hotter Aunt May, why not a hotter younger Madame Web.

The writers have a track record of truly terrible movies, and Sony.

If this has a lowish budget it might do okay on streaming, but it won't make a blip at the cinema.

It's got a director with a huge pedigree in shooting Superhero stuff like Jessica Jones, a really unique and cool premise in making it more of a thriller then just superhero punching each other out the whole time, it's got a great cast, and from the trailer I think it nails the high danger, fear vibe it's going for.

And when you do some research ot becomes clear this movie will be important for future Spiderman movies going forward.

Who? Jessica Jones was a short lived TV show (most notable for having David Tennant in it), not a blockbuster movie.

The trailer looked like people punching each other the whole time to me.

No one I'm familiar with.

Important in the same way Mobius the Living Vampire was important perhaps.

This looks s a stream for me but 1 of my kids is mildly interested

It does feel like a cw show or a dr who episode based on trailer combined with Loki and Groundhog Day. My bet is we see basically time travel (we get to see the outcomes of her actions if she does x then y etc)
This will have no effect on the Spider-Man movies just like secret invasion had no effect on ms marvel and just like new mutants had no effect
From what I’ve seen is these directors have no care for past or future movies (see the Star Wars Ridley trilogy) see most movie franchises where you have different directors. This isn’t something new as it goes back to the 70’s including comedies
Plus you have studio owners/managers that come in and want things taken out
Madam web is minor minor character in the marvel universe. I would say 99% of comic book fans know her as the old woman and didn’t even realize she’s in the new animated movies
Looked up sj clarkson-appears she’s directed scattered episodes of various shows (2 episodes of jones) and no movies
