D&D 4E 4e Battle Tactic: Murder by Pinball

A Wall of Fire is not hindering terrain because the power does not specify it as such. So, no saving throw. :) [/I]

D&D 4E 4e Battle Tactic: Murder by Pinball

We're discussing the rules of 4th edition, not the houserules of your group. Please stick on topic. Thank you.

    Hovering Dragons with Reach

Well if he's not doing that then he'd just be doing flyby attacks with reach. He still has no incentive to get in the players' range if he doesn't have to. Meanwhile, the party could have brought some reach weapons, so they don't have to be useless.

    Hovering Dragons with Reach

If you're worried about dumbing down a monster then don't include one in the campaign. Seriously. No. Knowing that you've won the fight because the enemy is intentionally being an idiot is even less fun.

    Hovering Dragons with Reach

From an RP perspective, Dragons are smart and have heard stories of other dragons being overconfident and underestimating the smaller races and likewise see no reason to give them advantages in combat. :D

    Customer Service on Divine Challenge

This is why Paladin Warlocks are fun :p!

    Marking via Dragon's breath

Maybe it's your opinions that are the problem and not the rules? Divine challenge absolutely encourages you to run away from your enemy and be out of hitting range. There are far worse implications hidden in the 4th edition rules. ;)

Help reign in a player who refuses to play his role

How is this character ruining the fun of the game? By throwing daggers? Come on now.

Help reign in a player who refuses to play his role

My point is the fact that these players and the OP are metagaming about the character's abilities and how a Paladin should be played. An Item that did less damage would be a tiny dagger and a worse weapon would be a rock since he's not proficient in it. And frankly, a dagger has that +3...

Help reign in a player who refuses to play his role

Since this thread has been posted twice, I'll post this twice. This has got to be one of the funniest threads that I have ever seen. Seriously, if this guy was a Rogue, would you all complain about him not using his Lay on Hands on his buddies? The fact that his character likes to use thrown...

Help me with my Adventuring COmpany Charter

This has got to be one of the funniest threads that I have ever seen. Seriously, if this guy was a Rogue, would you all complain about him not using his Lay on Hands on his buddies? The fact that his character likes to use thrown daggers and the Paladin class powers are pigeonholed into...

Excerpt: Minions. Go forth mine minions! Bring havoc with your 1 hp [merged]

Oh indeed, HP levels would have to rise. But HP just like Attack and Defense are relative. If you gain 10 levels and get +5 attack and defense, but your opponent has gained 10 levels and gained +5 attack and defense, your chance of hitting is the same as if no levels were gained. Granted HP...

Excerpt: Minions. Go forth mine minions! Bring havoc with your 1 hp [merged]

D&D already modeled LOTR in 3.5, the Fellowship just wasn't that high of level. But if a scalable minion effect was requested I would give the players scaling damage. I might for instance give players a +2 damage bonus per level and give minions a subsequent +2 hp per level, thus a minion 5...
