Torrent throwdown on the Wizards board

This! I can't understand why people still, after all these years, still think it's relevant at all to discuss whether or not online piracy is "right" or "wrong". Trying to convince people to stop downloading torrents is like trying to convince people to stop masturbating. You can do it with the...

    ENWorld Community PoL setting?

Definitly sounds like an interesting idea! I'm not sure to what extent I will be able to contribute, but I would sure like to be involved in such a project to some degree.

    Now, that's mature :)

    The Dangerous Book for Boys

Ok, I will stop making such posts in this thread, and I will also try to avoid them in other threads in the future. I still stand by my point in my previous post though; claiming, for example, that this book is not political and/or politically controversial, and that it should not be discussed...

    The Dangerous Book for Boys

First of all, sure things in this thread may have taken a turn to the political, and I guess I'm partly/mostly/entirely responsible for that. No more political, however, than the book itself. Not political in the way that it openly advocates or opposes an agenda of a given political party, of...

    The Dangerous Book for Boys

It all comes down to the issue of the, as I see it, essentialy sexist practice of raising boys different from girls (boys should learn to play with toy guns, go on adventures in the forest, learn wilderness survival et cetera, girls should learn how to cook, play with dolls and so on), a...

    The Dangerous Book for Boys

huh? I'm talking about the book, not the opinions of this or that online poster. True, of course, but I fail to see what relevance that statement has to anything I've said in this thread?

    The Dangerous Book for Boys

I don't. I judge it by the fact that it assumes that "men" and "boys" need more danger and adventure in their lives, impliciting that girls should just stay home and play with dolls. In my humble opinion that is, to put it mildly, the kind of excrements you get from male cows.

    The Dangerous Book for Boys

Touché :o Still though, judging from what that amazon page said, I find that book and what it represents to be pretty darn offensive to me as a humanist believing in gender equality. I sure hope I'm not the only one on these forums to think so.

    The Dangerous Book for Boys

Great... Adding even more layers of concrete to gender roles in society? Is that really what we need? And written by the author of that horrible "Emperor" series... Ah, I'll stop with the pessimism, let me just say this... Whenever you brits and yanks feel like leaving the 19th century behind...

Good Eberron scenario/adventure for three 3rd level PC's

As the title of this thread suggests, could anyone recommend a scenario or adventure for a party of three 3rd level characters (one human rog3, one dwarf clr3 and one gnome wiz3)? Preferably free online adventures, but dungeon magazine features could also work. Thanks in advance!

    Profanities

First of all, my post was in no way intended as criticism against the forum rules, more as a curious inquiry, because I find the matter interesting. Anyway, I tend to use really vulgar profanities (equivalents of the f-word, the c-word et cetera) very sparesly in public myself, but few people...

    Profanities

Hello everyone! I'm curious about something; why are people here (especially americans) so uptight when it comes to profanities? I'm thinking partly of the forum rules, but also of the general attitude. For example, a thread in the RPG forum where someone mentioned how awful it was that the...

WotC is going online. What do you want the digital initiative to be?

I second the "searchable database" suggestion. Complete database. All spells, feats et cetera from all official books. The fact that this hasn't been done already, even though we're years into the so called information age, is incomprehensible to me. Having to bring 4+ hardcover books to a...
