    Deadlands-The Savage West

Cool welcome aboard. The posse is growing. (And I had no idea Deadlands was so popular overseas- and not one but 2 Aussies!) Looks like we have: D20Dazza- Muckracker Boddynock- Huckster Dayspire- Gunslinger LogicsFate- Mad Scientist Thanee- Buffalo Gal

    Deadlands-The Savage West

Hehe. By 5 I meant 5 xp points. There are five ranks in SW, ranging from Novice to Legendary. After 19 points you level in rank from Novice to the next rank Seasoned. But every 5 points you gain, regardless of rank, you can advance your character and pick up new powers raise a skill, etc.. So...

    Deadlands-The Savage West

LOL. It helps to actually see the rules. The advantage of being a weird science type caster is that your devices have their own internal tank of pp. So if you level and invent an invisibility belt, your belt has 10 pp to use and your flamethrower has 10 pp to use. A huckster would have to use...

    Deadlands-The Savage West

No problem. It is somewhat confusing. The flamethrower is your power-"contained" as the flamethrower. It has the same power points you have-10. (Technically speaking you dont have the power points, the flamethrower does). But the power points on your gizmo do recharge-1 every hour. Its hard to...

    Deadlands-The Savage West

Ok, bear with me. Weird Science operates a little different than other Arcane Backgrounds. A character with Weird Science edge gets one power and 10 power points. The power for a mad scientist isnt a spell like a Huckster would have, rather its a gizmo- a physical manifestation that he creates...

    Deadlands-The Savage West

For what its worth, theres a revised rules out, which Im using. The differences between the original and revised are very slight. It was mostly in the way or erratta ,rewording of a few edges and clarifications. The changes are contained on a two page pdf on the great white games site.

    Deadlands-The Savage West

Ive been wanting to try out SW in PbP too, but could never get any interest. The relatively quick combat resolution should be a plus. As for other things I'd love to do more Deadlands stuff once Deadlands Reloaded comes out, or 50 Fathoms, the Savage Worlds fantasy pirate setting, which is tons...

    Deadlands-The Savage West

Cool! I was afraid a non d20 game would get short shrift. Glad to see some interest. You three definately have a place, so we only really need one more. Ill post a few more things not in the test drive rules that might be pertinent to you as players. For all you Deadlands vets the conversion...

    Deadlands-The Savage West

The sheriff of Oil Springs was an old cuss, with a a lazy drawl and and equally lazy demeanor. "Yep, we'd pay a posse the bounty of a hundred dollars for each of the brothers. Y'all interested? I only ask cuz them four Calloways a wild bunch. Been whoopin it up all over East Texas- murder...

    Star Frontiers d20-(Abandoned)

Cool. You have a spot. The original Star Frontiers was interesting, though there were some wonky things about it. Never did try Traveller though. But welcome aboard. If you dont have d20 future just use the srd.

    Star Frontiers d20-(Abandoned)

I was thinking of doing something like that, but decided against it. Since theres no real evil government, so it doesnt really work the same. All I can say is that the heroes of the game will be pretty independent, autonomous.Theyre not like the FBI. More like underpaid professionials, not...

    Star Frontiers d20-(Abandoned)

The players work for StarLaw, which is the "national" interplanetary law enforcement group for the United Planetary Federation, the games government. They are not part of the military and are a step up from the local law units that exist on various planets. However, the Rangers have a rather...

    Star Frontiers d20-(Abandoned)

The page does often take some time to load. The old Star Frontiers game was pretty science lite compared to games like Traveller. There were only four races, and like the Basic and AD&D of the tiem it was a little on the generic and open side as far as setting info went. Games were (to me at...
