I say give them a room they can't teleport into or out of with a DC 20+ resetting trap on the door that won't open until they disarm the trap, that'll throw them for a loop for a while.

Swashbucklers need strength??? doesn't weapon finesse and int to damage mitigate needing strength?

May I ask why not on the duelist? from what I've seen the +int to defense is very useful to an intelligence based class like swashbuckler. got us all the way up to lvl 12 at least rather well.

I don't see anything in the description of either of those abilities that mentions precision or vital areas, favored enemy only mentions knowledge of what your attacking while point blank shot mentions that they're well placed shots although I will meet you halfway on the second saying well...

no magic campaign? first off let me say I can't do no magic personally I always play a wizard or sorcerer type lol but anyways... we've had great luck in our campaigns with a swashbuckler/duelist chopping up enemies rather easily with high int and dex no magic involved.

my DM also learned the hard way about sending a group of frost giants ( with bags of infinite boulders) after my dread necro/palemaster... needless to say I kept them going for a good while and took out one of the big baddies solo. I'd say anything that improves the hp or strength of summoned...

I would say based on the RaW of it they underestimated the shadow and just gave it 2hd per 3 Shadowdancer levels. thusly you have a 2hd shadow at 3rd etc.
