Are the large boxes following SAVE and AP meant for the inclusion of any special conditions or modifiers related to those categories of rules? I.e, the halfling bonus against fear saves or a warlord's effect on AP expenditure?

I went ahead and got my copy. I'll ignore the Scarred Lands setting-specific fluff (although some of it, like the Titanomachy material, is easily transferred to my homebrew Point of Light campaign), but I can already see a large number of monsters to send after my players.

Agreed--if the book had been done like the first Creature Collection with massive amounts of Scarred Land fluff to work through, I wouldn't be interested in buying it. But what's been described here? I could easily work most of this into my own world.
