But they don't sell anywhere near as well as sourcebooks. Players and GMs both tend to buy sourcebooks. Not so with adventures which are mainly purchased by GMs.

How is this an example of a company screwing over their customers and pricing themselves out of business? It's an example of a company trying to take advantage of a market and totally misjudging their risk (to the initial benefit of its customers I might add).

Yeah, the blue chips corporations on Wall Street are killing themselves off with their quest for profits...or is it they have managed to stay as blue chip stocks because of them? Companies don't generally price themselves out of business. Could you let me know some of these businesses that did?

A common misconception from mis-reading the d20 license. There was nothing stopping you from including an XP table in a d20 product. In point of fact, the license specifically allows it.

WotC can't force anyone to shred OGL material because of the d20 license decency clause unless the material carries the d20 logo.

Well technically Mongoose is the licensee. Traveller5 is the version of the game the owner Marc Miller is working on for release this year. GURPS Traveller will also continue. Our own Traveller license won't expire until the end of August 2010, so we've got a while yet.

I am working on a rewrite of the system and posting drafts in our Moot area of the website. It will be the engine that will power Traveller20 through the end of our Traveller license and other settings beyond. It's a d20 based engine similar to T20, but stripped down and rebuilt.

If you know how to generate d20 characters, you don't need a core book. If you want a core book we have the Traveller's Guidebook for Players available as a PDF and a print version through LuLu. That book includes all of the character generation rules, a bunch of new classes, skills, feats, and...

The only major change to the combat system (personal) is the damage system.
