By the rules it has a Strength of 14 and a speed of 15, so it can totally make a running long jump and clear 14'!

See... this is the kind of thing I was referring to when I said that I could use my imagination to come up with D&Disms to make fun of (and I didn't remotely mean to imply that I didn't think that any of you could do it - you obviously and clearly can!)

This is (IMO!) MUCH funnier than "tripping" an ooze!

This is one of those many cases in D&D arguments where it's just a matter of people being far, FAR too stuck on D&D's use of certain "best-fit" words. They see "Trip" and "Prone" as the only way to imagine what is happening.
No thanks. I can do without your mansplaining of what is happening in my head.
It's not their fault, really - the game uses "trip" and "prone" for cause and effect.
Awww, thanks. It's not our fault, really, that we're not as smart and imaginative as you clearly are.
But, I think that it's pretty clear that nearly every word in D&D (conditions especially, but also anything the game uses as a descriptor) is meant to mean "Usually and often this is the case, but there are many corner-cases where this word is not meant to be taken literally, and many other adjacent ideas would often fit better".
Okay, and you've decided that this is one such case? So...that's your opinion? My opinion is that these abilities obviously do not apply to things like oozes. I don't need to contort language to justify nonsensical actions. I just overrule them.

So there are no Vistani couriers?
Probably the Dark Powers wouldn't allow it. Letting people inside the Demiplane of Dread communicate with those outside the plane would ruin their fun.

That being said, I would image the Dark Powers would be absolutely fine with tainting the message you send, or its reply. Yeah, you get a message back from your contact, but the instructions within are likely to send you on the path of darkness and towards becoming another Dark Lord.
