Spycraft! I half-remember hearing good things about that when I used to lurk. Going to give it a long hard look. The ones Psion mentioned too. That aside at the end was wondering about whether the Wizards' made supplements (Future, Past, etc.) were getting much use though, since my main question...

Thanks for that. The Magic Item Compendium is something I would have ignored otherwise. Is the Drow of the Underdark very similar to the other monster books? Most importantly, does it cover something other than Drow? Some other questions if anyone sees this: Are there other environment books...

    To Sail the Sunless Sea

This thread is wonderful and completely yoinked. Everything I might have contributed is already mentioned except... Light might be useful as a weapon against sensitive enemies as well as making you a target. If you run dark and trade routes follow currents it can be very difficult to spot nets...

Heh, whoops. It hasn't? Coming back and seeing this site with a section for 4E news on the front page I thought it must have been. Just went and checked the page itself and it says nothing of the sort, bad assumption on my part. Oh well, 'tis a relief. I am rather attached to what I have read of...

    Sourcery

Having made the decision to give actually playing a go, I'm hungry for sourcebooks and trying to build up a list of non-Wizards books for consideration. Would anyone care to recommend me a few that are highly regarded? The ones I've heard of that sound basically essential are: Mutants &...

Hey all. I'm someone who has been fascinated by D&D for ages - right from listening in on the games the other kids played in high school to lurking here a couple of years ago - and what with 4th Edition being announced and all I've got the itch it seems high time to get around to picking up...

RPGNet - What's Up With the d20 Ghetto?

Heh. I wasn't planning on posting any month soon but now I am wondering if it would be possible to use something like channels instead of sub-forums? For example, General RPG Discussion would show all posts in the forum but selecting d20 would show only the ones tagged appropriately. I'm...

    <Rant> Where has courtesy gone?

I am pleased to say that I still see a fair amount of courtesy and politeness in my life, and I try to do my bit to spread this by example. Both when I was in school and now using the 'adult' public transport system it is usual to hear people thanking the bus driver at the end of their journey...

Need Some Help with a Tavern Name

Just stopping by to say thanks Steel_Wind, for the thought behind the link. Aw, why not share too? It may not suit the theme (but the original poster has their answer by now anyway, so we seem to be just collecting names at this point), however, I have just recently used the name Tattoo Birdie...

The Leading Ladies Showdown - We Have Our 64!

Because she deserves to be here: Even though I'm too lazy to do it myself.

So, life (on Earth) is much older than what was thought...

    Ya, could have been interesting.

So, life (on Earth) is much older than what was thought...

Except that this was merely the most dramatic example of a regular occurance back then. There simply was not time for it to happen until afterward. The Earth's age was only a couple hundred million years old at the time, anyway.

So, life (on Earth) is much older than what was thought...

Except, to repeat, moon rocks have been dated to 3.5 billion years old (or was it more?). But IIRC 500 million years ago was about the time life developed into more complex (interesting?) forms. Cambrian explosion and all that. That certainly doesn't prevent anything Lovecraftian from happening...

is the H in IMHO actually Humble?

Never heard it as honest before. Might try reading it as that and seeing if it stops bugging me when people use it. :p Prefer the straight IMO myself.

Help me find alt music site

Not sure if this is the right forum. Perhaps you will get a better response in the Software, Computers & D&D Utilities Forum? 'Fraid I can't help you myself.

Magazine readers to name newly discovered planet

I'm pretty much with Kaodi on this one, although the best scheme I ever read of also included the condition of being 'dynamically significant' to be considered a major planet, which puts Pluto into minor planet status where it I think it belongs. Last I heard, wasn't the current thinking that...

Ah, excellent. It just wouldn't feel right for me otherwise. :)

Quick War of the Worlds question

Didn't see any threads addressing this, so: All I want to know is if they changed the ending of the story. Don't care what else is changed or added, but I don't want to go in expecting the original end if it has been changed. Thank you, all.

    Revised Demons/Daemons/Devils Part Deux!

Great to see this back, I am a big fan of your work. :D One question, though: why do the Gacholoths not have any Disable Device or Trapmaking skill? I would have thought that a given for saboteurs (more the disable device than the trapmaking).

    [June] What are you reading?

Just picked up the other day volume 2 of Excel Saga & volume 6 of Berserk - shame no one seems to stock #5, have to keep looking. The God book is very interesting but not detailed/thorough enough for my liking.
