    layoffs?

This is saddening news indeed, good luck to good folks currently without a job. I hope you all land on your feet.

    D&D Brand Manager of Fluff

Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting: A revision of the the classic D&D high fantasy setting for any edition of the game. No rules, just realmslore and maps. By Ed Greenwood, Jeff Grubb, Sean K Reynolds and Rich Baker. 320 pages. Greyhawk Campaign Setting: A revision of the the classic D&D fantasy...

Is Power Creep Real? If so, how do you fight it?

Pazio and more recent wotc books are IMO more accurate in terms of CR. NPC and MM encounter are usually easy (as in mostly boring) with evenly matched characters. The characters in my games tend to be underequipped and we mostly stick to Core or FR sources, with a few things from the first four...

    Tell me about Greyhawk

Where does the "D&D Gazeteer" fit in? As a slimmed down LGG? I kinda liked that one.

Your Favorite Dungeon Villains and Locations?

Janios from the "The Seventh Arm". I like villains you can talk to. Favorite locations (aside from Waterdeep and Isle of Dread, which probably does not count) are probably Istvin, the frost giant fortress in "Headless" and the Rift in "Kings of the Rift.

Upcoming Releases. What Are You Really Looking Forward To?

Pathfinder and the upcoming FR books all look very promising. Exemplars of Evil. ...I'm not very into making my own stuff these days ;)

    Spooky Music

I'd want to throw in some additional coppers for Diamanda Galas' Plague Mass records. Its the scariest music around. Nothing comes close. ... well, maybe Celene Dion, but the genre does not fit.

    1st to 9th, I believe.

    I got mine from amazon.uk

Has D&D gotten better because of it's computer spawns? (balders gate, etc.)

Baldurs Gate II brought me back to D&D and FR, so D&D got better in my case.

    D&D for the D&D experience

It all about the setting really. I use the Forgotten Realms for the D&D experience. When I use my homebrew setting I shoot for something between Conan and LotR.

    The New Rules Cyclopedia

I would most seriously consider such a product for DMing purposes, and leave the rest to the players to haul to sessions. The sheer weight of 3.5 is dragging me down, and I've begun considering options. A new Rules Cyclopedia would be perfect.

Pre-designed world Vs Starting from scratch

Munchkin and loving it I was a homebrewer for 15 years before turning to the Forgotten Realms, and have enjoyed both. The time issue made me run FR, but running prefab settings has grown on me in unexpected ways, as Faerûn keeps throwing surprising at me in unexpected ways. Let me explain: I...

D&D 4E The Soonest You Would Purchase 4e

"Other". As soon as I feel I need it. I'll probably buy most 4e FR books for day one however.

Pathfinder 1E If Paizo was allowed one hardcover product this year...

Neither. I already have AoW and see no need to buy it twice. A Forgotten Realms Compendium or Best of Dungeon Anthology would be cooler.

Planar Handbook and Manual of the Planes

Manual of the Planes is an excellent book, but a revision is long overdue after all the later reprints. I have flipped through that other book, but I'm not a fan of wonky new mechanics and put it back on the shelf.

    New WotC Campaign Setting

FR offers all the "fully supported" setting material I'll ever need, so I'd say go for one shots or nice adventure hardcovers. Greyhawk would be nice to see what all the fuss is about, but Birthright would be my favorite of the 2e settings.

    Egyptian/Arabic themed encounters

    Or perhaps Dune. Great thread.

Victory *and* death: Would you enjoy this?

Defeat and death A friend of mine ran an oriental campaign once. He betted the characters eventually would betray their daimoy to save their own skins. They all chose duty, and thus death. The DM was shocked, the campaign ended, but they still all talk about it with big smiles, now years after...
