I have the same feelings.

I going to try to run it as is myself. Not sure if my players will let me. I have 2 players that like to read all the rules then make changes based on what they feel is over powered or under powered. While I do get pissed at that a lot, they then to find flaws in any game system really quick.

Well like I said, I will hold off judgement until I see the rules.

Well so far everything that has been posted about 5e has turned me off. It just seems they want to revamp 4e rules (which I dislike) and fit everything else they like from other editions into 5e. I guess it will be a wait and see until I can see the actual rules before making my final judgement.

Funny you should post this. I made a mite NPC for my game and they work out fine. Of course I had had time thinking up name. Since he is a wizard I named him "The Mite-y Blue Wizard". For a 5th level he is considered very powerful among the mites.

I like at lot of the alternate build options that they gave the base classes. The new base classes in the APG only the cavilier make the cut for me. All the rest I could do without. Evilusion

For the OP, yes the players will try to go on magic shopping sprees, but it is up to the DM to say yes or no. Other options you have is to mark the items up that the players want to buy. Someone has to be making the stuff and that someone needs to make a profit. I tend to use a mark up...
