NY, Yonkers - Pathfinder RPG Iron Gods Adventure Path.

The Gotham Gamemaster is forming a new Pathfinder RPG group at The Spider's Web Collectibles Shop in Yonkers, New York. Cinematic, story-based, non-organized style for players who enjoy playing heroic style. I will be running the sci-fi/fantasy Iron Gods Adventure Path. Great venue and easily...

    4 Hours w/ RSD: Realtime

This was a great column and using it as a guide, I could easily look back on past sessions that had seemed either too sluggish or too frenetic and see why they had gone astray. I'm just getting back to GMing in a regular capacity with Pathfinder and will be keeping a copy of this column with me...

    layoffs?

Best wishes to all those who were affected by the layoffs. As a fan, I considered Dave Noonan to be "the voice of Wizards" due to his excellent podcasts. In addition, he was always a pleasure to interact with at DDXP as well. WotC will be the lesser without him.

Looking for a gaming store in NYC

Vicente's got it right. As a NYC resident, the Compleat Strategist can't be beat. It's on 33rd between Madison and 5th Avenues. The size is a little cramped but much like the Tardis, they have more crammed inside than you could ever imagine from the outside--with an inventory that spans a broad...

    Let's pronounce "Genasi"

This is how I remember Bruce Cordell and the other FR designers pronouncing it at this year's Secrets of the Forgotten Realms seminar at Gen Con.

DDXP to be in Pittsburgh next year

The newest update is welcome news. Valentine's Day weekend would have been atrocious scheduling.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder BETA - Some Sizzle, Not Much Steak

Ditto. In fact, I couldn't go back to core 3.5. One session of Pathfinder Society with 3.5 and I was done--which had zero to do with the DM or the adventure. Both were top-notch.

4E Adventure -- Scourge of the Ratmen: Price reduced (and rebate)

I did think the price was high but found myself in need of the adventure so I purchased it---and thus, the offer for the second adventure is greatly appreciated. Nice move, Adamant!

D&D 4E for Dummies --anyone have it?

I have it and recommend it. I particularly enjoyed its suggestions for party composition for larger groups. The 3.5 version had a better adventure and little starter area--but since this is better covered in the 4e DMG, it's not much of a drawback.

Is It Time to Disband the Group?

Keep the game alive. The boom and bust cycles can occur quickly in groups and, as another poster noted, summer can be a rough haul. But if you stop your game cold, getting it restarted is many times harder than trying to expand an existing group. Boardgames and some activities nights (movies...

Anyone else excited for Dungeon Delve?

Actually, I think this book may be a hit for me. I find the 4e combats fun but crafting the encounters isn't partcularly enjoyable for me. Since this will take care of the nuts and bolts and leave the fluff to me---I'm looking forward to it.

Pathfinder 1E [Pathfinder] Rise of the Runelords are there images of the coins for the setting?

There are images of some Golarion coins in the Guide to Darkmoon Vale. They have some falcon imagery embossed on them due to local lore and the like.

    Dragon 366 TOC

I'm really interested in the "100-Year Jump" article for FR. I'm hoping there's actually some substance to the coverage of this controversial decision and that it isn't just another fluff piece on the matter (as the various podcasts and such have been).

    Gleemax is Dead

It looks like we might be seeing a "DC Implosion" happening at Wizards as we move into post-4e launch territory. What they really need there to allay fans' concerns and gain back some goodwill is a Joe Quesada-like figure--someone at the top who has the authority to answer questions and who not...

Green Ronin not signing GSL (Forked Thread: Doing the GSL. Who?)

The Freeport Trilogy was 3e's killer app for me--and while their D&D output might have slowed since then, the quality always remained. So, for me, 4e is the lesser today in a huge way. No Paizo, no Green Ronin, no word from Necromancer--and all that's left are the thinly disguised "D&D...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder: Encounter Design Simplified

Thanks for the sheet, Wulf! After the Beta for PF is released, will we begin to see more TB? Or are you waiting on Paizo for the license?

    DMs! Who are YOUR composers?

Nox Arcana. Their Blood of the Dragon score is superb and I'd love to hear more high-fantasy scores from them (their horror stuff rocks, too---we can't play Arkham Horror without having Necronomicon on in the background).

easier for newbies: 3.5e or PRPG?

Pathfinder will be just as easy--and will also give the players 1st-level PCs that are more fun to play due to PFRPG's tweaks. As for adventure, Hollow's Last Hope presents a strong, solid, and easily grasped scenario.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder overhaul suggestions, pt. 2

I'm liking the simplification as well. Although Power Bonus seems like it should just be called Magic Bonus (less 4e sounding, to boot). I hope Jason and the other Paizo staff begins to visit here to contribute to these discussions. -peter
