I wanted to order physical copies of whatever I could get but it doesn’t let me ship to my address in the USA.

D&D General Was The Witcher Inspired by an AD&D Campaign?

Where are the 4 types of genies liked to elements before D&D? I am curious because only ifrit are described as “smoke & fire” in folklore. Marid is almost interchangeable with ifrit and djinn is just another spelling for jinn or genie as it is Anglicized. Dao are very hard to find non-D&D...

D&D General Was The Witcher Inspired by an AD&D Campaign?

All the things mentioned in the article don’t really seem to prove to me that the author of the Witcher was familiar with D&D. Most of those things are from LOTR or are not actually in the books. 2 things prove to me that Sapkowski was pretty familiar with D&D. First is the shapechanging Gold...

    Horizon Walker (Planer Warrior ability)

Seems like it just applies to one attack during your action and uses your bonus action. Rogues (the eventually multiclass) generally use the bonus action to get away from whatever they hit, this is just another option. Not overpowered in my opinion.

Sector 49 Episode 1: Robot of the Year

I have to say the karaoke song choice in the beginning was a missed opportunity... First thing I thought was it should have been that song “Who’s Johnny”...

    The economics of Continual flame

“Forces of darkness” are not a simple Darkness spell, earlier in the thread they are talking about people who worship darkness and hate light basically. I am talking about a pretty low level spell being cast for any variety of reasons, probably something nefarious, but could be for a bunch of...

    The economics of Continual flame

I think one thing not considered in this thread is that the 2nd level spell Darkness actually dispells this effect permanently. A street lined with Continual Flame lamps can all be dispelled by a practically free to cast Darkness spell. An expensive effect that could accidentally be easily...

The final word on DPR, feats and class balance

I am just trying to figure out how a sorcerer can twin fire bolt all the time. It does still take a sorcery point right?

    D&D 5E Lingering Wounds

I use them but tweak them in 2 ways: 1) I have them roll 2d20 and take the higest, making the most severe effects only happening like 1% of the time instead of like 5%. 2) If they are wearing armor; I let them take a point off the armor temporarily to negate the lingering wound effect.

The D&D Movie Finds Its Director

They should just do "The Crystal Shard" and be done with it. Vin Diesel would even make a good Artemis Entreri.

D&D 3E/3.5 5E's Initial Raw Sales Numbers Stronger Than 3E's!

This is the best I can find. The PHB 3.0 was featured on the main page apparently a few days after reviews start appearing in Amazon's records. Check this out too . It states that the 3.0 PHB was #1 on Amazon’s hardcover fiction list on about August 27th, 2000.

Mike Mearls Talks (er, Tweets) About the Industry

On the VR side discussion... I have an Oculus Rift VR headset and it is great; I have little desire to play a first-person video game without VR and motion controls now, but it doesn't effect my desire to play D&D around a table with a bunch of friends. It may take an extremely large amount of...

Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

Again, some people might consider including Dragonborn intolerable. Does it mean they should not include them in the books? It is easier to just not use Dragonborn than it is to create the race if it isn't included. just including a race or psionics or whatever can influence the setting. If...

Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

So does all "fluff of the rules" have to conform to what you like? Everyone will have things they like or don't like. All of everyone's opinions can't really be included. The "immersion" argument is similar. People might not like monks, or drow, or dragonborn, or whatever else and by your...

Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

D&D has always had some kind of built in flavor. It helps DMs who don't want to come up with everything themselves. You can always change it. If you are not playing D&D 5th edition now because of the flavor, why would not flavoring psionics change that?

Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

Well that just like, your opinion, man. Seriously though, I liked alternate names for dinosaurs because it was good for roleplaying and I then dont have to think up the alternate names.
