    D&D 5E 5E: Whips?

The whip just happens to be one of the times where RAW matches up decently with real-world usefulness.

    D&D 5E Array v 4d6: Punishment? Or overlooked data

Rolling vs. array vs. point buy really doesn't matter that much. There are trade-offs to each. They still have to know how to play the game. At my table, all players have rolled stats. The one with the best scores is a Vengeance Paladin. She rolled something like 18, 17, 16, 16, 12...

D&D 5E Just About Sick Of Darkvision.

Don't forget there was also ultravision, which was pretty rare if I recall correctly.

"4E, as an anti-4E guy" (Session Two)

So, if I am playing 4E and decide that 1-2-1 is how i want to go, what does that mean for races with a move speed of 5?

    Regarding ammo

I'm convinced. Seriously. I started a thread about this over at WotC (different name) in order to try to get advice on whether or not to track ammo. So, the secret is, that I have been sort of playing devil's advocate. As a player, I always tracked ammo. I'm pretty anal-retentive about...

    Regarding ammo

And they have 1/2 and 1/4 the range respectively (compared to longbow), less average damage, and no extra bonuses, movement abilities, benefits etc.. Either way you make a better point than most that oppose ammo tracking which essentially amounts to; "Keeping track of ammo is dumb 'cuz countiing...

    Regarding ammo

…which is balanced by being able to use said powers out of the range of basically all the enemies melee and many of their ranged powers…IMO. I make my players keep track of ammo. Also, I only give a 10% chance of recovering a usable arrow, which I think is generous since in the real world...

Forked Thread: Can Illusionary Pit be used on a flying creature?

I agree with everything being said about not restricting the effects of a power to the flavor text description…but…at the same saying that it's somehow not fair or somehow debilitating that a power wouldn't work on a flying creature is silly. Different powers are meant to work in different ways...

How to kill a blue dragon?

First, he won't be able to use his Lightning Burst from 22 squares. It is a ball of lightning that explodes upon impact. He still needs to be within the 20 square range to hit with it. Second, his breath weapon has a 10 square range. That's a perfectly reasonable range for a lot of powers...

DM's: How much cheating do you have to do?

I roll in the open, don't use a screen. It's made the game much more fun for all.

    EXCELLENT Tool For Making Tokens

Thanks! I've been making them with photoshop and this is much nicer and easier. (my chop-fu is not very good)

    4e Northwest Indiana (North Judson)

Yeah there are several problems with that. (which is why I didn't respond to your thread) One: I drive a hundred miles round trip to work in South Bend. I don't really have much of a desire to drive even further on my day off. (though, I probably would do it :) ) Two: with my work schedule I...

    4e Northwest Indiana (North Judson)

Right now I am running a game every other Sunday with my wife and one other playing. We will be moving to 4e in August, most likely Forgotten Realms. I keep it simple and straight forward. Few or no house rules and a traditional and fairly standard fantasy game. i would like to add 2 or 3 more...
