Based on sales, compared to MtG, D&D is a bit player. You can't really blame them from the standpoint of a corporation who's in business to make money. It's just the mathematics.

Yup, that's a corporation, right there. So busy with meetings sometimes that it's hard to get any actual work done. Happens to me all the time in my "real world" job. :)

Bear in mind that Dungeons and Dragons never gets mentioned in the Hasbro annual or quarterly reports. That, right there, is indicative of the fact that it's seen as a minor player, and when Corporate sees something that way, so does the subsidiary. And unless this new D&D movie pulls in $100...

I wouldn't mind seeing a 2E-ish use of spell spheres, either. You could certainly have spheres based on deity portfolio as well as a more universal alignment-based sphere at the same time. They would hardly be mutually exclusive.

I only looked at one of the batches. Do some have more detailed information than "Level 2 encounter 14"?

There's also detailed information on astral and ethereal encounters in the 1E DMG. A lot of that got mined directly for MotP.

I've bought all sorts of OSR stuff (adventures, supplements, etc.), so a big yes for me.

I always support my FLGS even if the price is a little higher. It serves a purpose greater than merely being a supplier of product; by giving us free gaming space, it allows me to grow my own game. I'm happy to pay a premium on games and supplies to support that purpose.

So many games, and so many editions, it's hard to keep track! Been collecting since 1977...
