I'm also toying with the idea for a quick (run in 2-3 hours) adventure for Dark Sun which could also be a starting point for something like an A5E Dark Sun Starter Kit. If you are interested in helping to compile stuff I can open a new thread for that
I prefer the above option actually, but mostly because I'm not a fan of the path of least resistance method; ie, "just reskin existing 5e elements".GM Binder also has at least homebrewed attempts for a 5e version of Dark Sun. 1. Dark Sun Player's Guide 5th Edition D&D by Toucanbuzz 2. Dark Sun Player's Guide 5e by JayStripes This one does have a Psion class in it.
True. Sometimes, it's better to just reinvent them the way you want them to be rather than converting something that's already there.I prefer the above option actually, but mostly because I'm not a fan of the path of least resistance method; ie, "just reskin existing 5e elements".
That being said, @Steampunkette 's psionic options are my go-to for all 5e-related games.
A little teaser:
Next month's thematic toolkit, Itinerant, is Cleric/Esper/Ranger. So look for a new Esper archetype and Esper/Cleric and Esper/Ranger synergy feat chains in that.
