Character selection is "it", i.e. It, character selection for the adventure, is not based on first come first serve (which is unfair IMO due in part to the time zone differences), and it's not based solely on DM discretion (which is fair, but not if I'm playing other games, and someone else is not...)
I think you have created an incredibly "fair" system of deciding which characters will get chosen for the adventure, so fair, that I don't have reservations trying to join based on my adventure participation otherwise. (I'm now only in one non-living game now anyway, due to game death, and Ata dissapearing (I miss Ata, he was fun)
I think this system is so good, I may dig up the thread complaining about the first come first served style, and post your method as an example of a possible solution.
P.s. I LOVE that Run'and'Hide's character class is "Coward"! HA HA HA
