"Careful," the halfling warns. "Place like this is bound to have a trap or two."

[sblock=OOC]Perception: 1d20+4=8 And it suddenly hits home why an 8 wisdom is a bad idea for a rogue... Guess I'll be piling on the skill-buffing feats in later levels.[/sblock]

You carefully pick your way to the back of the store, silent as a church mouse. The door is closed, but you hear whispered voices coming from below. Unfortunately, you can't quite make out what they're saying. The door is a simple wooden door with a standard iron knob, no visibile locks are see and after you give it a lookover, no hidden traps are visible.

"They've gone inside now," Raiyek whispers to his companions in the alley. "Stay quiet, we don't want to give them away now." The elf strains his ears, trying to hear if anything happens inside the building.
[sblock=OOC]Perception (1d20+11=18). Hmm, not so great that time.[/sblock]

Your senses don't pick up the telltale signs of battle or duress that would surely emanate from the shop if your companions were in trouble.

With Grim watching out for any approaching threats, Carolina drops down, spotting a small gap in the bottom of the door where it doesn't quite seal fully. You see that this room is in fact a store room for the shop. There is a few crates in the corner, a table in the center of the room, and chest on the far wall. More importantly, there are three pale, tattooed humanoids huddled near the far side of the cellar. Two of them are halfling-sized, wearing dark black cloaks and seem to be listening to the taller of the three. She is a lean and carries no visible weapons, her pale skin and dark eyes betray the fact she is not human.

Carolina stands and whispers to Grim what she sees. "Maybe we should leave here and go tell the others while we still have a chance."

Grim nods and moves back towards the front of the shop. There he pauses: "This will come to a fight. Perhaps our odds would be better if we signal the others, and then enter the room before their noisy approach is noted?"

"Whatever," Carolina shrugs. "Or we can leave and watch the place form afar, see what they do from here. Whatever the case, I'm not up for carrying on a conversation in this place. I'd just as soon burn it down and be done with it."

The waiting is driving Kruk crazy.

Kruk squints his eyes and notices Grim signaling the group to come forth. "Let's go boys. It's time to find out what the rogue and the ranger have discovered." He gathers his gear and nods for the others to follow (as quietly as possible).
