Verrick accepts his seat and his drink, carefully encouraging his companions to share their stories (avoiding sensitive subjects). Though he is a little uncomfortable with leaving his back exposed, Verrick is willing to endure this slight exposure in order to listen to these two sailors for at least a couple of minutes. Nevertheless Verrick remains on his guard listening attentively for any sign that someone might be approaching him from behind, and watching the sailors for signs that there may be danger. If necessary, Verrick will make sure that the sailors always have refreshment.

Whew, Ray breathes a sigh of relief - if only he could talk like his partner can he thinks to himself... Well, we all have our strengths he chuckles, she can't pick a good lock though...

He makes some signs to Pinkie indicating that we should get going - he also complements her on a great story!

Ok, I think we should get the ladies home then, sorry we can't be of more help officers...

With that he moves beside Pinkie and starts walking the opposite direction of the warehouse hoping the others will catch on that the group should just not wander directly to their final destination. Especially since more watchmen are likely on the way - when they find out that the story is not exactly true from the people inside they might come looking.

She holds he hand out to Phoenix as a pair of girl friends might do...

With that she, walking hand in hand with "Red", while sort of dragging Uggla along, heads off in the opposite direction of the warehouse...

As they walk away she attempts to engage Phoenix in what would be girlly chat for the benefit of the watch -

Did you see that Red...those brave watchmen.... (trailing off..)

Guiding Uggla in the direction Ray and Pinkie are walking... "Indeed Tiny, I did get an eyefull of them. So glad that my bluster didn't lead to further trouble. I would hate to tangle with such...capable... gentlemen under unfriendly conditions." Phoenix replies as they stroll out of earshot with Uggla tucked between them.

The 2 sailors down their drinks rather quickly and Verrick wanting to keep the peace calls a barmaid to their table. A young woman wearing a low cut dress that has seen better days (although looking around the room Verrick can tell this woman and her clothing are in better condition than most customers) approaches the table What can I get you men? Omar replies three pitchers of your strongest ale, you know the one I like. Velter continues…. There we were they thought they had us but Capn had a trick or three for em. You see our sloop didn’t set as deep in a water and we sailed right over some coral an those other ships hit that coral and sprung leaks….Ha that was a sight! The barmaid returns with the requested drinks and places one in front of each Verrick, and the two sailors. Omar raises his pitcher and yells bottoms up me friends! Verrick eyes his new drink being approximately 6 of his previous drink in one and Omar had suggested much stronger.[/sblock]


Hearing the comments of Pinkie, Phoenix and Ray the remaining guard puffs his chest and poses as the triumphant hero that has just defeated the evil dragon that was ravaging the community. He then begins verbally assaulting all onlookers telling them to go to their homes nothing to see here. He turns to the group Be safe ladies I can not watch all the streets of the city after all. It would be a shame for the city to lose two fine ladies as yourselves. If you need any help you can get word to me at any guard tower just ask to get a message to Belluvious. He smiles as he watches the party head south dragging Uggla with them.


ooc: Where is lookspring in relation to the party? Does he go with, follow, wait, or something different?

Hearing the guard forgive his warning shots, Lookspring darts from the alley to collect his arrows. He recovers one that didn't break off when it hit the ground. Without meeting the gaze of the watchman he hurrys off down the backstreet Verrick was supposed to by guarding. Not immediately seeing the human, he drops his gaze to the ground and begins searching for tracks.

Search for tracks (1d20+4=9)
Lookspring will search for him for a short time and if he doesn't find him he'll head for the warehouse.

Verrick looks at his new drink with a bit a apprehension. He knows that there is no way he would be able to be useful if he attempts to drink it.

That leaves the fools route. He will try the drink, but make as if it is too much for his constitution and experience. I probably won't have to act. he thinks to himself.

If it has been at least a minute or two since he heard the disturbance in the Snooty Pig, Verrick will politely take his leave.

[sblock= Verrick] Realizing you have been gone longer than you would like and left the back door to the snooty pig unwatched you gulp down some of your pitcher. The drink seems more potent than you expected. As you stand to leave the room blurrs a bit and sit back down thinking you will wait a minute to shake the effects of the drink. You remember seeing the two sailors laughing and upending their drinks.[/sblock]

[sblock=Lookspring] As you come around the side of the building you hear Halt who goes there by order of the city watch! You see many tracks at the back of the snooty pig but no sign of Verrick or where he has gotten to.[/sblock]

What are the plans of Ray, Pinkie, Phoenix? How far south will you travel before turning?

(Speaking for Ray and Pinkie here....)

As they are walking....Ray and Pinkie quickly formulate a plan and talk it over with the group. (SEE THE GRAPHIC) They propose the group take this route because it allows them to approach from a different side than originally planned, it takes them far from the Snooty Pig and the watch, also it lets someone look for pursuit. They intend to wind through the back alley (within the actual city block with the warehouse inside it) when they get near the warehouse. (SEE GRAPHIC - inside warehouse block)

Finally in closing they ask for any alternate plans or ideas.

(OOC: BigB the specific details of the city are unknown to me so I made this up on the fly for a general idea of what I want to do. If there are not that many blocks or whatever just modify it to meet the intent as you see fit. The idea is to circle around from a different way and tail ourselves for security.)

ooc: Verrick is off having a good time with friends and Lookspring is looking for him so Phoenix is the only one to comment on the plan of egress. The actual city is not that even and neat blocks but the basic plan should be easy to follow for the group of you still together.
