OOC: Does that mean that an arcana aid another cannot be made from outside the crystal's range? If so, Elkrysn's just going to stand out of range and watch given that, even at a mere DC 10, he has a 45% chance of failing each round.
You are either close enough to help and thus need to make the check, or you are too far away and cannot help. And its a group Endurance check.

Johanna joined the others around the stone. After watching each of her companions take a turn at the task, she knew that her knowledge would be of little use against such an unnatural object- like Vimak and Sapo, her best chance of helping lay in her physical prowess. She took a moment to set her feet, trying to remember how the dwarven miners used to attack the rocks back in the mountain village where she was raised. Her spear would be no help, so she instead drew one of her hand axes- with a carefully placed blow and the full strength of her body she lashed out. There was a sharp 'crack' as her ax-blow landed, and she drew a sharp breath in surprise- a breath that pulled in some of the tainted air around the stone...

[sblock=OOC]I need a check from WD (and his attempted Athletics)[/sblock]Most of the group attempt to deal with the stone one way or another, though the drow stays back. Sapo attempts to smash it, but her illness has dimished her focus, and it is for naught. The strike of the northern woman's axe, however, rings clearly as a crack begins to form. Torqua seizes upon this to begin to unweave its power, achieving some success. Lhavaar hesitantly points to a weak point, but it may not prove useful...

OOC: Sapo fails Athletics, but Johanna's crit adds a success and removes Sapo's failure. Torqua succeeds w/o Elkrysn's assistance; Lhavaar fails giving -1 to next skill check. I'll update the Endurance consequences after WD goes.

2 Successes; 0 Failures

Vimak pries open some of the cracks, weakening the stone some more. The group barely manages to fight off the waves of wrongness.

OOC: Sapo fails Athletics, but Johanna's crit adds a success and removes Sapo's failure. Torqua succeeds w/o Elkrysn's assistance; Lhavaar fails giving -1 to next skill check. Vimak succeeds on Athletics; only one more possible going that route. Group check passes. Everyone is up again.

3 Successes; 0 Failures; -1 on next roll.

Vimak Stonecarver

Vimak continues his forceful approach, but as more stone cracks, he is hit by a burst of corrupting influence.
