[Adventure] A Boy and His Dog (DM: stonegod; Judge: r1)

While the drow asks around, Lhavarr works on turning the suspicious Smearers friendly. He has some success at it and they seem more amenable. [Elkrysn grants the next Streetwise roller a +2 check. Lhavarr's success makes Streetwise rolls easier for the rest of the challenge, but Diplomacy cannot be used again. Neither accrues a success for the challenge.]

Unconcerned with social niceties, Sapo hops over the broken fence while the others are talking. The fence walled off what appears to be a dead shipyard: Old boats, many rotting, lie in the muck to die or be scavanged from. The mud here is still wet, and the bullywug suspects she sees some canine tracks amongst the various human ones milling about. [Success]

Johanna followed along as the others continued their search. Holding her spear in one hand, she reached into her pack long enough to dig a piece of jerky from her rations- then she used that to coax the poor weary dog along. While the others had managed to get the locals a bit more friendly, there was nothing quite like a dog to start some conversations- and Johanna used that bit of human nature to best effect. Whenever someone looked at her feeding the dog and smiled, she smiled back. "We just want to get this fellow back to his owner- can you help us?"

[sblock= OOC] Seems like a bad plan to let those Streetwise bonus points go to waste... Streetwise check 1d20+3= 22 (+2); roll Roll Lookup [/sblock]

Johanna asks a few folks scavenging the dead boat's bones. A gnome fisherman is the most helpful. Mayhap I see a boy this morn, I guess, after the tide be out. Over towards the Berm, I think. He points towards what appears to be a wooden structure at first glance, but on second seems to be the wreckage of a ship almost vertically in the mud. How it got there is anyone's guess. [Streetwise success]

Vimak Stonecarver

Vimak looks at the wooden structure, trying to see the easiest entrance, but his knowledge about boat structures is limited.

Given that the party had split up to look for the boy, Torqua figured that best thing to do would be to go to the local bar and try to find out if anyone has seen the kid. She might as well have just one small beer while she's there, it might just help her memory.

3 beers later, the fat sorceress suddenly remembers what she came in here for. "Excuse me, has anyone seen a boy with a dog running around here of late?" She asks, before giving off a large belch, hoping to fit in with the locals some more.

OOC: Streetwise Check, seeing as how that's what Torqua seems to be good at. 18+4=22

The group approaches the wooden structure, slowed a bit by the mud. As they get closer, Vimak just spots out of the corner of his eye some metal. Turning, it looks to be a bit of piping, sewer piping! It is as this moment the lethargic dog begins yipping and barking, as if some new life had been put into him. Perhaps this is the sewer after all!

Climbing down the small hill onto the flats, the sewer entrance is clearer. It is quite sizable, large enough for the goliath to stand tall without crouching, but the smell is... less than appetizing. Brackish, green water pools where the piping overhands the mud.

[Skill challenge success! Now what? :)]

Elkrysn follows suit with a mood of reminiscence, also not erred by the smell. "I believe we should head in as quickly as possible. Who knows what may have already befallen the boy?" Elkrysn begins walking into the sewer entrance, completely oblivious too the fact that he's the only one who can see in the dark.

Torqua cringes at the smells of the sewer. "Good point, Elkrysn, and sooner we find him, the sooner we can be out of this sewer." The massive mage states, lighting up a torch. Holding her nose, she follows the others down the drain.
