With a roar Leather strikes out at the goliath once more with a powerful two handed strike that leaves it disembowelled, but miraculously still on its feet, bloody mouthed and grinning wildly, unaware that it is already dead.

OOC: No worries, SoM. Staying by the cannons was a tactical error, but certainly not an unreasonable one to make. We'll pull through. :)

OOC: If Ilex is still up next round, I suggest having her use Hypnotism on EGR11 and then if she hits using her Feyswarm Staff to daze it.

Hopefully I can then finish off the very injured goliaths with Magic Stone and get close enough to Haaku to heal him next turn.

[sblock] Only bad thing is Leather will probably drop with one more hit unless he gets lucky. These guys hit massively hard.

If he is still on his feet next round we have a good chance. We should be able to clean up the goliaths.

But the boss may mop up all of us! He'll be less dangerous when he doesn't have any allies to deal out free attacks to, although then he can double attack! We should have left him a minion!!

Seeing Haaku fall from grievous wounds, and then failing to get up again, Boomer knew the group might be in some serious trouble. Although it was risky, and he wasn't told to take any actions from the group, he took it upon himself to fire into the midst of combat. A cannon ball whizzes through the air, smashing into the ground and sending shrapnel and concrete flying in all directions. Unfortunate for the Goliath standing in the blast zone, a fist sized hunk of concrete burried itself in the warrior's skull, taking the fight, and life, out of it before it could even hit the ground.

"Gotcha ye evil bastage!"

The orc saw the blast coming and dropped to the deck, managing not to get hit by the flying pieces of metal and concrete, but then stands back up, ready to keep fighting. Meanwhile, the Goliath near Fhangrim continued his assault on the boxed in Gnoll, stabbing out at his pets and managing to pierce the chest of Ursa Minor, who cries out in pain before disappearing back into it's realm of eldritch and nature magic.

Noctua Ursa also faces danger as it is assaulted by a spear wielding Goliath, but luck is with the Owlbear, and it manages to step to the side, causing its attacker to only graze it's shoulder with the spear. It hurt, but she was still in the fight!

Now that the dust had settled after Boomer's mighty blast shook the scene, the large orc spotted his fallen companion. With a roar, the orc trampled through the rubble strewn ground and swung his axe mightily at Leather. However, Leather's battle reactions took over, swinging his weapon in an arc to intercept the deadly weapon. Unfortunately for him, though, the swinging axe had so much momentum that it caused Leather's blade to vibrate rapidly, sending a stinging shockwave into the fighter's arm.

OOC: Ilex allowed Leather to use his Second WInd when she healed him right? That's what I had understood at least. SO his defenses are currently +2 which puts his AC at 21, meaning a narrow miss on the part of the boss. Is that right?

OOC: The defense bonus from Second Wind lasts until the start of your next turn. Since you went after Ilex, but before the monsters, it was already gone before the monsters attacked. If Ilex had waited until you had already acted, then it would have still been active for the monsters. Normally you use Second Wind on your turn, so the bonus lasts a whole round, but Herbal Healing breaks that.

Ilex sees Fhangrim looking for a way to get to the fallen Haaku. She eyes the goliath blocking Fhangrim, scrutinizing him, as if she sees what others can not then begins to speak. “The EVIL, it is not dead. It has jumped to YOU! It must be destroyed if your army is to take this town. Kill it! NOW!” With that the goliath turns his spear upon himself and attempts to dispatch The EVIL. You can see the horror in his face when he realizes that he failed to destroy The EVIL. All the while a swarm of stinging insects has been flying towards the goliath from Ilex’s staff. They sting and distract the goliath, the poison causes the goliath to become dazed.

Expending a surge of energy, Ilex calls back her companion from the Feywild asking Noctua to guard her against the goliath on the left again. Then they both move to their new position on the battlefield.
