[sblock]Rika drops to the ground and crawls to within 55 feet of the half-elf, then draw her bow and line up a shot at him, only firing if he moves toward her or the herbs where she assumes Devlin is. After the shot she will stand up and draw her rapier.

OOC: Ready action to fire if he moves off the road towards her or wherever she thinks devlin is. Spot, Listen, Hide, MS +2 [/sblock]

That'll do it! Ironwolf will resume trying to catch the horse, holding the apple before him.

Planus leaves Rika’s horse with Sturm and goes after the horse of the dwarf. The animal is still somewhat panicked and it disappears behind a small ridge. The elf urges his mount to go faster, in order to catch up. He’s quite happy for excitement given to him by the rushing wind and the speed of his mount. He also takes time to look around, wary of any trouble. He wonders where Rika and Devlin could have run to but all he sees is a traveler on the road, south of them. The man must have been frightened by something, as he kicks his horse into a gallop and flees south.

Ironwolf, seeing that his horse is calming down, stops and concentrate for a moment. He quickly regains the focus he lost while fighting the snake. As he resumes walking, he notices that a traveler, to the south of them, kicks his mounts and flees south at full speed.

Rika and Devlin continue to maneuver around the half elven stranger. While the dry herbs provide sufficient concealment to remain hidden, it’s quite hard to move around without making any noise. Indeed, Devlin can’t see anybody behind him but he hears another one moving in the herbs. He hopes it’s one of his companions. The half-elf seems to hear the same thing and his heads turns from on source of sound to the other. “Enough of this.” says the stranger. He turns his horse around and kicks it into a gallop.

OOC: The stranger doesn’t ‘trigger’ Rika’s ready action as doesn’t move any closer to her. Sturm also sees the traveler’s flight. Here are the initiatives, but this might not turn into a fight. Do what you wish. I’ve also attached of small map, to show you how I view things. The ½ elf will move (run) on his initiative.

Planus continues over the ridge to get Sturm's horse. Upon reaching the ridge, he will use his higher vantage point to get a better view of the land. Specifically, he is looking back up the road in the direction the party was headed to see what up there might have caused the traveler to flee.

OOC: Not knowing that Rika and Devlin scared the traveler away, Planus assumes there may be something ahead on the rode that the traveler just spotted. His priority though is to get the horse.

Unless Devlin does something dramatic, Ironwolf is unaware of any specific danger. He continues after his horse.

OOC: Which direction is the half-elf galloping, toward or away from the bulk of the group?

If the rider is coming toward him: Sturm will instinctively plant his feet and level his scythe. "Ho, there! What's crawled up yer dropper, 'ey?"

Otherwise: He'll watch him head off, check for any other signs of danger, and focus on keeping Rika's horse calm, glancing over the ridge where Planus has gone to retrieve his own.

If a fight starts: Rika will fire her arrow at the horse, drop her bow and draw her rapier while moving towards the half-elf.

If we let the man get away: Rika will let devlin know where she is and head back to the horses.

Hearing the half-elf prepare to leave, Devlin heads toward the road.

If Devlin makes it to the road before the half elf flees: "Ho, stranger. You wouldn't want to be leaving a potential brigand at your back would you?" Devlin calls to the half elf. His rapier is still in his hand, but pointed toward the ground, Devlin's other hand is empty and held out to the side.

If the half elf flees before Devlin makes the road: "Well that was kind of rude to pique my interest and then run away..."

OOC: You're travelling north; the stranger is behind you; he's fleeing south, away from you. Sorry if that wasn't clear. And, yes, only Rika & Devlin could really do something.

As the stranger turns his mount to make a getaway, Devlin rises from the herbs and moves quickly to the middle of the road. With a few words, he hope he can convince the half-elf to stop his flight. The stranger seems unfazed by this and rides right at the rogue! "Out of my way miscreant!"

Meanwhile, Ironwolf and Planus are continuing their efforts to catch their horses.

OOC: The half-elf is attempting an Overrun action. Now, 2 things: Devlin can take an AoO on the horse or the rider if he wishes and, then, he must make the choice between avoiding the horse and trying to stop it (right...).
