Gorefoot - Gnome Barbarian 1

It hits Gorefoot for 7 points. Gorefoot's blow is deflected by the creatures armor.

OOC: Well that did it :), Gorefoot is raging. Power attack for 1, +6 to hit(+8 if flanking), 1d10+9 for damage.

Rage modifiers:
+2 hp
-2 AC

Gorefoot howls in rage, only to face the increasing frustration of seeing his blows deflected by the beast's armor.

Morulas is next, then Fant.

Nars darts and twists over to opposite Gorefoot hoping to divide the construct's attention. He makes a stab with his short sword after pulling up adjacent to Sir Ishmael.

OOC: Nars will tumble around to flank with Gorefoot. He will fight defensively this round making an attack after he gets to his flanking position. Tumble +5, AC 19, Attack +0 (+2 Str, -4 fight defensively, +2 flanking) Damage 1d6+2

Ishmael continued his assault, hammering away at the construct. He felt its strength on his shield arm even as the wooden kite shield reverberated with the impact of its blows.

"For the Wooden Sword!!!" he cried out.

ooc: standard attack, maintaining a flanking position.

As Fant raises her sword to strike at the creatures back, exposed as it attacks Ishmael, she considers, briefly, a request to surrender. If the creature is intelligent, it may not hurt, and would save them the effort and risk required to dispatch it; however, the creature may not posses enough intelligence to properly communicate the concept, especially at this late hour when the battle is joined.

Then Gorefoot screams, the effort required to diffuse the situation skyrockets, the scales of risk and reward tip precipitously, and the decision, as far as Fant is concerned, is made for her. She brings the sword down.

Aiming carefully, an arrow drawn up and the bowstring almost touching his face Morulas stalks around the construct, waiting for an opening in the frenzied melee. Despite the brutes towering size, the whirl of limbs and blades is certainly testing the elfs archery skills to the limit.

-----------------------------------------

OoC:

Morulas will give it another shot with the bow.
[Attack + 3 (already counting the -4 penalty for shooting into the fray) / Damage 1d8 +1]

Round 3 Ends, 4 Begins

Initiative:
Persephone
Rodimus (KO)
Nars
Ishmael
Construct
Gorefoot
Morulas
Fant

Morulas sends another arrow into the fray, hitting the enrmy's armor at a glancing angle, deflected to the side without damage. (OOC: Miss.) He moves over a bit to get a clearer shot next time.

Fant strikes with her blde, doing 6 points of damage.

Subtotal, end round 3: 28 hp to enemy

Persephone reloads her crossbow.

Nars tumbles into position opposite Gorefoot. For a moment, he thinks he sees a weakness, and moves to sneak attack. In the twisting fray of battle, however, he misses.

Ishmael fumbles, losing his grip on violet in his effort to strike as hard as possible. The warhammer lands near his feet.

The construct redirects its attentions at Fant, as the lady of lionel has been hurting it and Ishmael suddenly seems less a threat. The lady does not favor it, however, and Fant is unharmed. (OOC: Someday this thing will roll above a 5, and you're all doomed! Doomed, I say!) :)

Gorefoot is next.

The elven rangers hands and fingers now work with the graceful and surehanded routine gained through long practice hours; his slender face never the less strained with concentration as nocks yet another black-feathered arrow.
Trying to minimize the danger for his companions, Morulas keeps moving sideways and aims high as his bowstring sings once more.

If your target (or the part of your target you’re aiming at, if it’s a big target) is at least 10 feet away from the nearest friendly character, you can avoid the –4 penalty, even if the creature you’re aiming at is engaged in melee with a friendly character.

I don't suppose the thing is this big? or is it? If it's not it'll be again a risky shot:
[Attack + 3 (again already counting the -4 penalty for shooting into the fray) / Damage 1d8 +1]
as well as another move to get into the lower-right-hand corner of the thing where noone seems to obstruct his line of sight.

Round 4 continues

(Gorefoot goes here.)

ooc: It's 10' space & reach, so not big enough to avoid the penalty, especially while flanked.

Morulas's next shot finds its target, inflicting 4 point of damage. The enemy is substantially wounded now.

Fant goes next...

Nars is finally able to bring both blades to bear on this creature. It seems it may have a few particularly vulnerable spots as well.

OOC: Full attack. Attack bonus +2/+2, Damage 1d6+2, 1d6+1. Was that a sneak attack chance? I didn't expect that. Nars will full attack until he or the creature is dead.
