Um Shear, he is with some thieves? What are their names and the name of their guild? Maybe I've heard of them...
Nice place you've got here dearie. My name is Mab, but you can call me Auntie Mab, everyone does.
Overcome with Mab's overture, Professor Masetin struggles to find his breath. Taking her hand like a nervous schoolboy at a dance, he attempts to recover his voice, "I...I'm honored Auntie Mab."
I've never had a formal education myself, mostly self taught in the arcane arts you might say. Oh and Luran the fey lord helped too, but that is a long tale she says.

Now what were those nasty thieves young Draglin were talking about? They sound awful! Perhaps we should find out about them first and start from there.
The professor smiles at Mab fondly with an expression that says, 'Anything for you', "Ah, the story of the thieves is a long tale too." Professor Masetin's eyes lift to the ceiling taking time to organize his thoughts, "You remember, I'm sure, passing The Crystal Mug on the way into the city?" he does not pause, because he is so sure of the answer, "Evidently, its proprietor, a man named Blagarm Barblacken, was hosting a thieves guild at the inn. The men from Daunton [the word men is pronounced with some hesitation because many of them were not human] found their den hidden in the cellar. They ousted the thieves, killing many, but capturing one of them, who named Lars Hallmaster as the true ringleader. As far as I know, they have no self-chosen name, but since the event, the city folk are calling them the Secret Cellar Gang." he pasuses, and then continues as if just remembering something, "As I said, the news hit Professor Aramista rather hard. Lord Hallmaster was one of his favorite students. Niether he, nor anyone else would have believed that poor, captured wretch except that the Night Watch found several of Lord Hallmaster's affects in the thieves' den, including letters written in his own hand." he sighs, "I'm afraid the evidence against him was quite convincing."

He smiles once more, and adds, "If you wish to investigate the den, I can escort you to the gatehouse where you can call on Fenkton to take you there."

Read through what you've discovered so far in the challenge and post your musings. If you can't agree on where to go next, I'll give you a push.

I'll post rules and objectives when you decide where you will go next.

"So, what next? Investigating is not what I am use to do. That Lord Hallmaster seems to be the source of the problem. Maybe the evidence of the Night Watch might help to find what happen." suggets Gloom.

Dante nods. "This is not custom for this one either. This Den of Thieves does sound like a place for the starting of more searching though."

Virgil grunts and waddles to the door, glancing back at the group as if checking to see if they are following.

The warlord looks at both of the maps he discovered, then shakes his head. I can't figure this out!. Taking his shield and strapping it to his back he looks at the ranger and paladin. I like your idea Gloom. Let's go.

Onward to the brigands! Draglin cries, marching out the door.

Oh dear, he sure has the energy of youth! Auntie Mab chuckles. If I was 40 years younger.... well never-mind that! Come Tristram, we have some naughty thieves to find. I do so hate them! she says winking at Max and scooping up the rat (who was gnawing on a book).

Where are we going again? Draglin asks, poking his head in the doorway.

To find the "brigands" dearie. Mab says.

Oh that's right, onward!

Gloom looks at Draglin and Mab heading toward the thieves. Gloom shrugs and look at Max "Find the bandits... that wasn't the idea of investigation I had... but if that mean a fight is coming, I'll be in my element."

Oh! Is that what you said dearie? You'll have to forgive me hearing in my old age, I swore you mentioned thieves! Auntie Mab says.

OOC: Gloom's idea is fine with me, I thought it was looking for Lord Hallmaster with the thieves. :)

"Personally, I would find more interesting to enter a thieves' den than going read some letter... I've kicked some thieves' butts in Daunton. I should have died there, but Lauto decided otherwise." replies Gloom.

OOC: Yeah, he felt under 0 hp and his first death save was a 20...

"But from what I've learn. The most boring thing was the thing to do to investigate." he adds.

Max nods his head to Gloom. Let's see what we can find, then kick ass later. Who knows, maybe we can find something that will work to our advantage. A smirk appears on the warlord's face as they head out. Heads are going to roll...that's my specialty.

OOC: Funeral for a friend tonight, and then I couldn't pass up the chance to stir things up in the Hanged Man. I'll post an update tomorrow.
