Um Shear, he is with some thieves? What are their names and the name of their guild? Maybe I've heard of them...
Nice place you've got here dearie. My name is Mab, but you can call me Auntie Mab, everyone does.
Overcome with Mab's overture, Professor Masetin struggles to find his breath. Taking her hand like a nervous schoolboy at a dance, he attempts to recover his voice,
"I...I'm honored Auntie Mab."
I've never had a formal education myself, mostly self taught in the arcane arts you might say. Oh and Luran the fey lord helped too, but that is a long tale she says.
Now what were those nasty thieves young Draglin were talking about? They sound awful! Perhaps we should find out about them first and start from there.
The professor smiles at Mab fondly with an expression that says, 'Anything for you',
"Ah, the story of the thieves is a long tale too." Professor Masetin's eyes lift to the ceiling taking time to organize his thoughts,
"You remember, I'm sure, passing The Crystal Mug on the way into the city?" he does not pause, because he is so sure of the answer,
"Evidently, its proprietor, a man named Blagarm Barblacken, was hosting a thieves guild at the inn. The men from Daunton [the word men is pronounced with some hesitation because many of them were not human]
found their den hidden in the cellar. They ousted the thieves, killing many, but capturing one of them, who named Lars Hallmaster as the true ringleader. As far as I know, they have no self-chosen name, but since the event, the city folk are calling them the Secret Cellar Gang." he pasuses, and then continues as if just remembering something,
"As I said, the news hit Professor Aramista rather hard. Lord Hallmaster was one of his favorite students. Niether he, nor anyone else would have believed that poor, captured wretch except that the Night Watch found several of Lord Hallmaster's affects in the thieves' den, including letters written in his own hand." he sighs,
"I'm afraid the evidence against him was quite convincing."
He smiles once more, and adds,
"If you wish to investigate the den, I can escort you to the gatehouse where you can call on Fenkton to take you there."
