Nothing happens as the paladin and his wolf companion step into the room. After Kamotz states his observations the room remains deathly silent with no movement in the room.

GM: What does everyone else do?

Vermitrax simply lifts his hand. He narrows his eyes and a faint cyan aura starts emanating from it, in armony with his now glowing cyan eyes.

OOC: Using arcana to recognize the liquid and general setup of the area. Is this set up for a ritual of sorts?

Prime advanced cautiously towards the center of the room, holding the sunrod high

+++Keep your eyes open. This must be a trap or some sort+++

As you study the liquid in the pools you remember from your reading that it is this concoction of necrotic filth, that when mixed with the flesh of the living, creates a walking dead known as fallen ones. It is clear to you that this liquid hasn't been disturbed in a long time.

"No one touches the Phazerean liquid please" Vermitrax states, pointing at the pools of black liquid. "Or it will be the last thing you do."

As Prime moves closer to the center of the room, a chain of events take place. ONe the dark shaded 20' by 20' square area on the ceiling begins to lower down ,as the strange indentations of the ceiling and the wall open, revealing strong cables which connect to each side of the now revealed cube. About halfway done from the descent of the cube (now 25 feet off the ground) The cables tighten as the hold the outer walls of the cube in place as the lower half continues to descend. This reveals a hideos glob of black goo with multiple eyes and mouths. The platform then halts, 20' of the ground. The cables holding the walls of the cube in place connect to pulley in the ceiling. The remaining cable connects to the walls of the room 10' off the ground. Behind the raised walls of the cube are interior bars arranged in a criss-cross pattern, keeping the abomination within the cube platform, but allowing it to see you. Meanwhile, other things are happening simultaneously. One, metal plate begins to lower from the ceiling of the entrance to the room, which eventually will close the room. At the rate the plate is being lowered, Kamotz could possibly get out, but Prime cannot. It is possible for everyone else to get in the room before the plate seals the room. And two, the four pools of black liquid begins to stir and bubble. And third, the abomination speaks in from its multiple mouths in unison....

You have entered a place that is forbidden to the living. Only the dead roam freely here. You must now die, joining the others who trespassed before you.

GM: Does anyone else have a light source active besides Prime?

ooc: Anyone wanting to join Prime can move into the room. Everyone roll initiative.

Enemy initiative: 19

Anyone who rolls 19 or above can perform actions first. The move action to get into the room is free.

Though he expected a trap, Prime's artificial brain is too slow to process the weirdness of the situation.
